COMING IN HOT looked a winner in his last start, but was caught in the shadow of the post. The son of Oratorio is a progressive type and should have no issues with the extra distance on offer today. It is encouraging that S’manga Khumalo keeps faith in the ride and he should go one better.

PUERTO MANZANO was not disgraced when finishing second in the Non-Black Type Egoli Mile last time. He challenged strongly all the way to the line that day, but found one too good in the form of Stone Cold. He is having his peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. He looks to have ability and should take a power of beating.

Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Tarry S
ZIMBABA was a beaten favourite in her last start over 1100m on the Standside course. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests she will love the step up to the 1450m. Gavin Lerena steps into the saddle today and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

ANATURA produced a typical second run after a rest last time and is better than that effort suggests. She ran a good race when finishing second in her penultimate start over a mile on the Standside course. She has won once and finished third three times from five starts on this course. She is having her peak run today and from her good draw of four, she can get back to winning ways.
