The return of club football will be a much-needed distraction for Italians following the Azzurri’s shock defeat to North Macedonia that kept them from featuring in a FIFA World Cup for a consecutive time having also missed out in 2018. The Serie A returns with an exciting title race with the big game between Inter and Juventus on Sunday.

Saturday 2 April

11/10 Spezia | Draw 23/10 | Venezia 5/2 (15:00)

We kick off the weekend’s action with Spezia hosting a Venezia team that is on a four-game losing streak and has shipped in seven goals in their last three games. The home side themselves don’t have a great record in recent weeks picking up just one win in their last five games.

Both teams have a similar goal difference which highlights they have weak defensive lines. The last time these two met Spezia won 2-1 away. I’m tipping a Spezia win.

15/20 Lazio | Draw 3/1 | Sassuolo 32/10 (18:00)

Lazio will be looking to go back to winning ways in this game after being smashed 3-0 by Roma last time out. That loss meant Maurizio Sarri’s men now have a two-point gap to make up between them and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League, and ten points adrift of Champions League places.

The team they are hosting though isn’t easy opposition. Sassuolo is unbeaten in their last six games, a run that includes wins against Inter Milan and a draw against Roma. I’m backing a double chance; Lazio win or draw.

32/10 Salernitana | Draw 51/20 | Torino 17/20 (20:45)

After showing a bit of character to earn back-to-back draws in recent weeks, Salernitana was brought back to earth by a resurgent Juventus. Still they remain stuck at the foot-of-the-table, with only three wins in 28 games.

Torino hasn’t been on a good run of form either, picking up three points (from draws) in their last five games. I still expect the away side to win this one.

Sunday 3 April

11/20 Fiorentina | Draw 34/10 | Empoli 44/10 (12:30)

Despite losing their striker to Juventus in January, Fiorentina is still holding their own in the top half of the Serie A table. They are four points adrift of the Europa league places with a game in hand. Their form in recent weeks hasn’t been great but is commendable considering they’ve lost once in their last five games and picked up two wins and two draws.

Empoli on the other hand have been slipping and now find themselves in 13th position. It’s unlikely they will be relegated but they’ve been operating on relegation form with no win in their last five games. I’m tipping a home side win and Over 2.5 Goals.

17/20 Udinese | Draw 49/20 | Cagliari 33/10 (15:00)

Udinese has done well to keep a good distance between them and the relegation zone by picking up six points in their last five games, despite losing their last fixture against the Scudetto chasing Napoli.

Meanwhile, Cagliari is deep within relegation matters separated by just three points from 18th positioned Venezia, who have a game in hand. They’ve done themselves no favors with three straight losses in their last three games. Udinese to win & both teams to score 33/10.

3/1 Sampdoria | Draw 26/10 | Roma 17/20 (18:00)

The away side will head into the game in a good run of form. With three wins and two draws, Roma is finally looking like the competitive team we always believed they can be under Jose Mourinho. This run of form has placed them in sixth position, sitting just eight points off fourth-positioned Juventus. While aiming for UCL seems like a long shot with eight games left, Roma can still pip fifth-positioned Atalanta to claim a spot in the Europa League group stages.

After losing three games in a row, Sampdoria managed to snap that streak with a 2-0 victory against Venezia. I’m backing a Roma win here and for them to score the last goal at 6/10.

29/20 Atalanta | Draw 9/4 | Napoli 39/20 (20:00)

This match should be a great ‘curtain raiser’ for the big game playing later on Sunday (Juventus vs Inter Milan). While Atalanta is out of the race for the Scudetto, they’ve become common features in the Champions League and will be looking to make up the gap between them and the fourth spot.

Napoli on the other hand is just three points off Milan in the second spot and will look to get full points to stay in touch with the title-chasing pack. The visiting side will also be aware of the fact that Atalanta beat them 3-2 in December having also beaten them 4-2 in February last season. Tough one to call so I will back a double chance of Atalanta win or Napoli win.

4/10 AC Milan | Draw 37/10 | Bologna 13/2 (20:00)

With Napoli, Inter, and Juventus facing tricky fixtures this weekend, AC Milan will be licking their lips at the prospect of hosting Bologna.

The visitors are winless in their last four games and could only manage to score one during that run. I’m tipping an AC Milan win, add them on all your multiplies.

7/4 Juventus | Draw 23/10 | Inter Milan 31/20 (20:45)

The Oldy Lady has quietly gone about its business collecting full points game after game and is currently on a four-match winning run. That has thrown them into the race for the Scudetto as they now sit just seven points from the top position, and if things go their way, they could leapfrog Inter into the second spot and be within touching distance of Napoli as well.

Inter have had a bad run of form managing to win just once in their last five games (drew three and lost one). They’ve seemed to lose a bit of steam in what is a very important part of the season. I’m backing a Juventus win and both teams to score.

Monday 4 April

15/20 Hellas Verona | Draw 26/10 | Genoa 36/10 (18:30)

The home side is on a worrying run of form having recorded just one win in their last five games. Fortunately for Verona, this bad run of form hasn’t dragged them to the lower half of the table as they still have a seven-point gap between them and 11th-placed Torino. They face a Genoa side that hasn’t lost in their last five games, collecting seven points in a run that has seen them revive their survival chances.

Genoa is still stuck in 19th position, and their last victory was only their second win in 30 games. Having shipped in a lot of goals in January, Genoa has conceded just two goals in February and March. Back the away side clean sheet at 2/11.

TREBLE @ 7/2

Lazio Win 15/20

Roma Win 17/20

AC Milan Win 4/10
