Cricket Australia Answer ‘Cheating Scandal’ Questions


Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland addressed the media on the preliminary findings of the ball tampering investigation.


Who was involved?


Cricket Australia have concluded that Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft were the only players involved in the ball tampering scandal and no other player, coach, or member of the supporting staff was aware or part of the incident.


Who will replace the Australian players heading back home ahead of the Final Test at Wanderers?


Australia called up Matthew Renshaw, Joe Burns, and Glenn Maxwell to replace David Warner, Cameron Bancroft, and Steve Smith. While Tim Paine has officially been appointed the 46th Test captain for Australia.


Will Darren Lehmann step down as Australian cricket coach?


Sutherland confirmed that Lehmann will not step down as the Australian cricket coach and is expected to see out his contract until the end of the 2019 Ashes Series in England.


More news will follow in the next 24 hours once the investigation is complete and Sutherland states that significant sanctions will follow for each individual case.
