Hollywoodbets Dolphins seamer Rabian Engelbrecht’s five wicket haul was the highlight of another day of attrition at the Pietermaritzburg Oval in their Sunfoil Series clash with the WSB Cape Cobras on Saturday.

The third day of the clash was also underlined by a hundred by Cobras middle-order star Aviwe Mgijima.
Day three’s action started with Mgijima going to his second first class ton before the Cobras were bowled out for 350, a lead of 65 runs.
Engelbrecht’s second first class five-for was critical for the Dolphins, as they let the lower order of the Cobras off the hook with Dane Piedt and Dane Paterson sticking around with Mgijima to put them in a strong position.
It was a steady start from the Dolphins with the bat in their second innings, as they moved to 39 before Sarel Erwee fell for 24. The Morné van Wyk and Vaughn van Jaarsveld parternship took the Dolphins into the lead before the former was caught and bowled by debutant Junaid Dawood for 45.
Van Jaarsveld went to yet another half century, as he and captain Khaya Zondo put on 56 for the third wicket. Unfortunately for the Durban-based outfit they lost those two in quick succession with Van Jaarsveld falling for 57 and Zondo was out for 25.
Dane Vilas fell for 16 and Senuran Muthusamy became Dawood’s second victim when he was dismissed for 17 and the Dolphins found themselves teetering on 202/6.
Once again it was Rob Frylinck who provided the lower order fire power as he and Prenelan Subrayen (13) put on a crucial 40 for the eighth wicket.
Frylinck and Engelbrecht will resume the innings on day four on 34 and six respectively with a lead of 195 runs.
