As one of the best places to watch cricket in South Africa, the Centurion cricket ground should be packed to the brim for this match.

South Africa vs West Indies | First T20I | Saturday 25 March 2023 | SuperSport Park, Centurion | 14:00

To Win Match
Proteas 34/100 | Tie 25/1 | West Indies 23/10

South Africa’s heavy-hitters are back and available in force, with David Miller in particular looking in good touch during his PSL run.

Aiden Markram gets his chance to captain the Proteas T20 side for the first time as his tenure gets underway.

Sisanda Magala’s excellent recent run of late has been rewarded with an IPL gig and he forms part of a stacked Proteas pace attack.

With Keshav Maharaj injured Imaad Fortuin is handed a place in the squad but he might not get a game in Centurion with Tabraiz Shamsi also in the group.

West Indies’ T20 bowling star Sheldon Cottrell is fit again and will be out to exploit the cracks in the Proteas batting even of there aren’t any on the pitch.

Rovman Powell leads the West Indies T20 team at the moment but his position, as with every skipper of the side is one bad series away from being cut short.

Expectations for the West Indies are always much higher in T20 cricket but this unit hasn’t really gelled since the departure of Kieron Pollard.

Jason Holder has had his moments on this tour and could be influential in the T20Is as well.

Verdict: South Africa

At home and at SuperSport Park, the Proteas should have the edge.
