The morning session was a good one for the Dolphins who batted patiently and responsibly with just three wickets in the bank when they took guard on Tuesday.

Prenelan Subrayen and Grant Roelofsen began the day but Roelofsen was the first to fall for a well-played and crucial 73.

Subrayen and star with the ball in the first innings Daryn Dupavillon then put on 40 for the ninth wicket with Dupavillon making an important 19 runs.

Subrayen was the last man out for a well-played 44 after he edged one to the keeper off Shaun von Berg.

The Dolphins were dismissed for 253 and had a lead of 137 runs.

The second innings for the Knights started in far better fashion with openers Jonathan Vandiar and Matthew Kleinveldt batting patiently.

With 45 runs on the board Lifa Ntanzi struck picking up the wicket of Vandiar for 34.

Kleinveldt and Raynard van Tonder then put together a strong partnership of 101 for the second wicket before Van Tonder became Senuran Muthusamy’s first victim for 46.

The opener Kleinveldt finished the day on 67 not out and Patrick Botha is the other batsman at the crease on three.

The Knights have managed to cancel the Dolphins lead and they are now thirteen runs ahead going into day three on Wednesday.
