China Super League: Round 16 Preview

MLS Betting Preview

We preview round 16 of the China Super League.

Round 16 of the Chinese Super League gets underway this weekend. We are at the halfway mark of the season and top two of Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG are neck and are slowly stretching their lead from the rest of the pack. And while there will be alot of attention given to the two aforementioned sides respective fixtures, the match of the week will undoubtedly be between Tianjin Quanjian and Guangzhou R & F.
Friday 7 July

Tianjin Quanjian 11/10 | Draw 24/10 | Guangzhou R & F 43/20

Tianjin Quanjian scored four times to beat log leaders Guangzhou Evergrande 4 – 3. Tianjin Quanjian have won seven of their fifteen matches and are currently in fourth place. A victory for Guangzhou R & F could potentially see them climb to fourth place. Former AC Milan player Alexandre Pato will be one to watch for Tianjin Quanjian while Israeli midfielder Eran Zahavi will be the man to watch for Guangzhou R & F.

Tianjin Quanjian come off a 4 – 3 win against the log leaders and will be high on confidence as a result. The home win looks a tempting prospect but I think I found some better value with the
Highest Scoring Half Hometeam – 1st Half – at 9/4.

Saturday 8 July

Yanbian 16/10| Draw 22/10 | Chongqing Lifan 16/10

Yanbian scored twice to beat Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng F.C this past weekend, Yanbian are still not out of the dog box as they currently sit second from the bottom. Yanbian recorded their second win of the season and are still fighting to climb out of relegation. Their opponents this weekend Chongqing Lifan sit ninth on the standings with only four wins. Chongqing Lifan won this past weekend in a seven-goal thriller against Guangzhou Evergrande.

Yanbian will take this match and I reckon they’ll keep have a clean sheet as well. As such, I’m on the Home to Win to Nil – Yes – market at 31/10!

Beijing Guoan 5/2 |Draw 49/20 | Guangzhou Evergrande 1/1

Log leaders Guangzhou Evergrande have only lost one of their last five matches. After leading Tianjin 1 – 0 at the stroke of half time the log leaders squandered their lead and conceded two quick-fire goals in the opening five minutes of the second stanza of the match, Guangzhou Evergrande went down 4-3. Beijing Guoan will be the underdogs going into this match as they’ve only managed to win one of their last five matches.

Log leaders Guangzhou should have no problems snatching a win. Get on the Away Team to Score in Both Halves – Yes – market 37/20!

Hebei Zhongji 6/10 | Draw 26/10 | Henan Jianye 17/4

Third place Hebei come from a goalless draw against Shandong. Hebei have managed a healthy eight wins so far in the league. Their opponents Henan Jianye have only won two matches, conceding 21 goals, while scoring 14. Manuel Pellegrini’s Hebei are the favourites here with the likes of Gervinho and Aloisio sure to be threats.

I’m on the  Hebei Zhongji -1 handicap which can be found at 33/20!

Jiangsu Suning 11/10 |Draw 24/10 | Shangai Shenhua 9/4

Bottom of the log Jiangsu Suning’s take on eighth place Shangai Shenhua. Jiangsu’s form has yet to see them net a win in their last five encounters. Shangai Shenhua will be confident coming off the back of two consecutive victories. Nigerian legend Obafemi Martins will be one to watch as he’s netted six goals and he’ll play alongside prolific Argentinian, Carlos Tevez. Fabio Capello’s  Jiangsu Suning will look to dig themselves out of their relegation hole and will be heavily reliant on their Brazilian midfield duo of Ramires and Alex Teixeira, to do so.

I quite fancy the Shangai Shenua To Score First market at 13/10!

Liaoning 15/10 | Draw 22/10 | Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng F.C 17/10

Liaoning have lost four in a row, while Guizhou have drawn three and lost two in their last five matches. Croatian and Guizhou’s striker Nikica Jelavic sits on eight goals so far this season, he’ll most likely get onto this weekend’s scoresheet. Key players for Liaoning are Zambian and former PSL player James Chamanga and Nigerian Anthony Ujah both on five goals apiece.

I quite fancy the away side to grab at least to goal here. Get on the Away Team Totals – Over 1.5 Goals – at 13/10!

Changchun Yatai 13/2 | Draw 34/10 | Shangai SIPG 4/10

Shanghai SIPG have only lost one this season and are a point away from the log leaders. SIPG harbour three talented Brazilians,  Oscar (1 goal), Hulk (9 goals), and Cardoso (7 goals). Changchun Yatai have found a bit of form and are currently on a run of four games without a loss (two draws – two wins). But I still don’t see an upset on the cards as Shangai have invested a lot on their players and have conceded the least amount of goals this season.

Shangai’s scoring form sees them on 38 goals while conceding only 12 but they’ve only managed one clean sheet this whole season. I’m on the
Both Teams to Score – Yes – market at 15/20!

Tianjin Teda 13/2 | Draw 34/10 | Shandong Luneng 4/10

Last time these two sides met Shandong won by a goal to nil thanks to Diego Tardelli. Shandong will want to make it back-to-back victories here. Tianjin Teda boasts the likes of Nigerian John Obi Mikel and Senegalese Diagne Mbaye. Shandong Luneng have a strong forward duo of Papiss Cisse (6 goals) and Diego Tardelli (9 goals).

I quite fancy the visitors to run the show here and as such, I’m on the Away Team to Win Both Halves – Yes – at 17/4.
