The Blue Bulls will be looking to build on their victory over the Griquas when they take on the Pumas on Friday the 15th of September.
It’s nearing do or die time for the Blue Bulls who need to start bagging points if they are to bag a home semi-final. The men from Loftus currently sit in third spot on the table but have played more games than any of their semi-final rivals. They also have a harder run-in, which makes Friday’s fixture against the Pumas an absolutely crucial one.

Pote Human almost saw his chances of landing a home semi-final in his season back at the helm of a Bulls Currie Cup idea go up in smoke as his chargers failed to truly put the Griquas to bed during their 40-45 victory over the men from Griqualand.
This weekend’s hosts will need to be a lot more clinical on defence if they are to avoid slipping up against a Pumas side that has produced some good rugby this season.
Pumas
Like their opponents, the Pumas really need to start harvesting points if they are going to achieve their lofty goal of challenging for a semi-final berth. The men from Nelspruit currently lie fifth on the table and are four points off fourth place occupants, Western Province.
The visitors head into Friday evening’s clash after going down 26-12 to the Sharks in Round 4. The Pumas were actually good value during the opening stanza of last week’s clash in Durban and were only effectively put out of the contest midway through the second-half.
Verdict: Pumas (+12.5) 9/10
I think the Loftus faithful are in for a bit of a heart scare this coming Friday as I feel their boys will be run close but a Pumas side that will be playing to keep themselves in the hunt for a semi-final berth will be tough to manage.
