Race 2: NEGROAMARO(5)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Johan JANSE VAN VUUREN
NEGROAMARO is a top class sort who was clearly in need of her comeback run on her seasonal debut over this c & d, four weeks ago. She was soundly beaten into 2nd by the equally talented three-year-old filly QUERARI FALCON on that occasion but is now 3kgs better off at the weights. Furthermore, she will be fitter and Anton Marcus knows the grey filly very well. She really deserves her third career win and today could be her day.

Race 3: CAPTAINOFMYHEART(11)
Jockey: Juan-Paul VAN DER MERVE – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF
CAPTAINOFMYHEART is in good form and he enjoys this c & d. He stayed on well for 2nd in his comeback run nine days ago and will be fitter now. The Woodruff inmate placed in stronger company three runs back and he should be extremely competitive from his good draw today.

Race 4: RACETHEGREENLIGHT(9)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF
RACETHEGREENLIGHT expectedly built on his decent debut when he was gaining quickly at the finish over five furlongs in his comeback run a fortnight ago. The bay gelding only finished one length ahead of STEAL A MARCH that day but he will be fitter today and this extra furlong should suit him perfectly. The Woodruff charge has lots of room for progress and he should take a power of beating despite his wide draw. Top visiting jockey Anton Marcus has the task of negotiating the barrier position.

Race 7: OOMPH(1)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Michael AZZIE
The top weight OOMPH made late progress in his comeback run over the minimum trip in a feature on his Highveld debut recently and hardly surprisingly, his conditioner steps him up in distance. The former PE resident still has to find his superb early form but he will strip fitter and drops in class today. He is well drawn on his track debut and should give an excellent account of himself.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 9: DANCING WALL(6)
Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK
The three-year-old DANCING WALL is above-average and she could be worth following. She took three runs to shed her maiden tag over this trip on Greyville’s polytrack earlier this season and she wasn’t disgraced on her handicap debut at the same venue last Friday. The daughter of Mambo In Seattle didn’t have the clearest of passages late on in that event but she probably also found the seven furlongs too sharp. She will be fitter on her Highveld debut today but the obvious concern is whether this run comes too soon for her as she would only travelled up a few days ago. Still, she could be way ahead of the handicapper and merits healthy respect.
