Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: MATING CALL(10)
Race 3: CHOOK(9)
Race 4: INTISARA(12)
Race 7: KISSIMMEE(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: SIDE SHOW(7)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Sean TARRY

SIDE SHOW
is the stable elect and he has produced two smart runs to date, including a 3rd over this c & d, second time out. He rises in class now but meets debut winner NAVARRO on 3kgs better weight terms for a three parts of a length beating and the Tarry inmate should be competitive. The latter is well-related and he justified favouritism when he fought on well to win over seven furlongs first time out. He should relish this extra furlong and the son of Silvano has plenty more to offer.

Race 5: MOVIE MAN(9)
Jockey: S’manga KHUMALO – Trainer: Barend BOTES

MOVIE MAN clearly benefitted from his most recent break as he produced two useful comeback runs down the straight. He was raised three pounds after his last effort but is well drawn on his track debut and has definite claims in his peak showing. The four-year-old Mogok gelding gets the services of S’manga Khumalo.

Top Bet
Race 6: CUMBERLAND(3)
Jockey: Gunter WROEGMANN – Trainer: Spike LERENA

There are some decent types in this competitive handicap and an exciting finish is expected. The four- year old natural frontrunner CUMBERLAND loved racing on this new circuit as he led throughout to make a winning debut over a mile here, two weeks ago. He races at a similar level today and quite surprisingly escaped with just the minimum two-pound penalty. The son of Casey Tibbs is even better over this slightly shorter trip and he is well handicapped in this field. Furthermore, he has cracked a good draw.

Race 9: TOBESURETOBESURE(9)

Jockey: Francois HERHOLDT – Trainer: Heather ADAMSON

TOBESURETOBESURE
had a welcome return to form when she ran on well for 4th in her comeback run over a mile on her track debut, two weeks ago. She has gone close over this extra distance before and will strip fitter now. The five-year-old bay mare drops in class and has lively claims from a good draw.
VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 3: CHOOK(9)
Jockey: Sherman BROWN – Trainer: Leon ERASMUS

CHOOK
had little hope from her shocking draw in her comeback run after a huge absence recently but she will be fitter now. That track experience will stand the former KZN resident in good stead and she had an eye-catching debut in her penultimate effort. Moreover, she has cracked pole position this time around and could make huge improvement.
