Race 5.

NICCI TRIX is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she won over five furlongs three runs back and has then finished fourth in her last two starts, the latest over five furlongs, 2.2L behind the winner when returning from a 15 week rest. She was bumped at the start that day, but stayed on well over the latter stages and the form of that race has been franked. She will have to negotiate a wide gate ten, but she should give the males a good run for their money.

JAILBREAK showed solid improvement in his last start finishing third over 1100M, just over a half length back from the winner, this despite coming three wide into the home straight. He was making good late progress in that contest and from his kinder draw five, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

LIBERTY SUN is drawn one inside the latter and has finished closer to the winner in each of his last three outings, the latest when second over six furlongs, one length behind the victor. He hit the front at the 150M mark that day and was only run out of it over the closing stages. If he has continued down the same path of improvement, he should be considered a big runner in this line-up.

Race 6.

The day’s best bet, PRIMA STELLA goes for his hat-trick after two wins over seven furlongs, the latest by a neck. He moved up three wide approaching the home turn, but finished off his race strongly and the form of that contest has been franked. From his hand draw two, he may prove to be difficult to topple here.

BIG SURPRISE followed up his penultimate run victory over a mile with a fifth place finish next time out over the same journey, just over a length off the winner. He tried to go from jump to wire that day and from pole position, he may prove difficult to reel in over the latter stages.

MAGIC CHARLEE had his consistency rewarded with a win last time out over 1500M, putting three and a half lengths between himself and the opposition. He took a bump down at the start that day, but recovered well to kick clear of the field as they entered the home stretch. He will have to overcome a wide draw thirteen out of fourteen, but nevertheless, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 7.

MILK MAN has posted two solid last efforts, the latest when third over this journey, just over one and a half lengths behind the winner. He jumped awkwardly, but then stayed on well over the closing stages, so from the widest draw of them all in gate eighteen, he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the frontrunners in the dash down to the finishing post. As such, he is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card.

FAST TALKING is seldom far off the action and finished second in his latest outing over nine furlongs, one length adrift of the victor. He attempted to go from gun to tape that day and from a cozy draw two, he is likely to attempt similar tactics here.

OUR INTRIGUE is a 6yr old mare taking on males, but she won over this distance three runs back and then had nothing go her way when fifth last time out over 1900M, 5.1L behind the winner. She jumped awkwardly and was hampered shortly after the start, followed by coming four wide into the home straight, before finally being bumped at the 350M pole. She gets draw four and with better luck in running today, she should be right up there in the mix.

Race 8.

IMATRUESTAR won his maiden race last time out over five furlongs, putting 3.8L between himself and the balance of the field. He was returning from a 15 week rest that day and takes on stronger here, but he gets gate four and could prove to be up to the task at hand. It should also be noted that the form of that last race has stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning.

DEMOCRACY MANIFEST has only had the three runs to date, but put his disappointing penultimate effort firmly behind him when winning his maiden race last time out over five furlongs by three lengths. He was returning from a longer 24 week absence that day and did race green in the home straight, so that effort was encouraging. He faces a wide draw sixteen, but he should be doing his best work late.

FOXSTORM was staying on well when ending up in second place last time out over 1100M, 1.8L behind the winner, suggesting that he should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. He jumps from gate six and should be included in all bets.
