Race 4.

FEELS HOT has consistent form lines to his name, having finished second twice and third once in his last three runs over a variety of different distances, the latest when second over a mile, just under a length behind the winner. He hit the front at the 150M mark that day and was only run out of it late. On that performance, he should enjoy the drop-in trip. He gets a hand draw three and will have 1.5kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice to aid his cause. KAZKAZI followed up his penultimate run victory over this c&d with a fourth-place finish next time out over seven furlongs, 1.4L back from the winner. He tried to go from jump to wire that day and was only collared late and whilst he has the widest draw of them all in gate ten, given his style of racing, he is likely to use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. SASSATIONAL is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she has cracked pole position. She was a tad disappointing last time out when ending up in tenth place over a mile, six and a half lengths behind the winner, but she came very wide into the home straight that day and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. In addition, the form of that race has been franked and she should give the males a good run for their money.

Race 5.

CORPORATE LARRIKIN had his consistency rewarded with a gun to tape victory last time out over ten furlongs by nearly one and a half lengths. The 11yr old kept finding extra when challengers came over the latter stages and could prove difficult to reel in over this slightly shorter distance. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate nine, but on the plus side, he will have 1.5kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. He renews his rivalry with LOSING TICKET who finished second in the race mentioned above, but her jockey dropped his reins that day and may have finished closer than she eventually did. She is a 7yr old mare taking on males, but she has a slightly kinder draw seven and is 1.5kg better off at today’s weights. As such, she should finish closer to the top choice here. CLASSIC JACK missed out on his hat-trick when finishing fifth in the same race as the top two selections, 2.6L adrift of the top pick. As he meets the second selection on the same weight terms today, he may have to settle for the same result. He is drawn one inside the latter, so will have little advantage in that regard.

Race 6.

Today’s value bet, MAGIC OPUS is a 7yr old mare taking on boys, but she is seldom far off the action and although sixth in her latest outing over 1100M, she was just 1.3L adrift of the victor. She was denied a clear run that day just when she started her finishing burst and should have got nearer the winner than the official margin. She has drawn gate four and with better luck in running today, she should be right up there when they hit the line. LACEVINSKY put in a disappointing performance last time out, finishing last over seven furlongs, twenty lengths behind the winner and was immediately moved to a new trainer and rested for 16 weeks. He returns here after having had one barrier trial where he finished second and is drawn one outside the top choice. If fully settled into his new surroundings, he should not be lightly dismissed in this line-up. DARK ASSAULT won his penultimate start over this c&d and then went on to finish fifth in his next run over six furlongs, just under three and a half lengths back from the winner. He is drawn the widest in gate eleven, but is a speedy sort who should be able to move across without using up too much energy and will also have a 1.5kgs claiming apprentice in the irons.

Race 7.

CAPTAIN SHARMANE is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she has only had the four runs to date and put two lengths between herself and the opposition when winning her maiden race last time out over six furlongs and the form of that contest has been franked. She was returning from a 22 week break that day, which was clearly just what she had needed. She will have to negotiate draw nine, but on the plus side, she will have 1.5kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s program. MY BLUEBOY on the other hand has pulled pole position. He was hanging out over the latter stages of his last start over 1100M, before ending up in third spot, just over three lengths behind the winner. He will have an even greater 2kgs removed from his allocated weight for the services of his claiming apprentice and could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick. SHESAPOCKET ROCKET is a 5yr old mare who has finished closer to the winner in her last three runs, the latest when staying on well to end up in fifth place over 1100m, three lengths behind the victor. She has a cozy draw three and will have 1.5kgs taken off her back for her claiming apprentice. She should be involved in the finish.
