This can provide a poignant outcome, with MOKTAFFY opening his account in the silks of the late Sheikh Hamdan. The Lope De Vega gelding earned on both starts as a juvenile at Listowel and Leopardstown under this evening’s pilot and is bred to enjoy the step up to an extended mile and a quarter.
Race 6 No8 BURNING LAKE (Each Way)
Trainer: Joseph Murray – Jockey: Scott McCullagh
BURNING LAKE looks an attractive each-way entity from a favourable draw in this big field. Beaten in a photo by Newland two starts back, he might have gone for glory too soon when reeled-in and finishing fourth to Pride Of Pimlico last time. If McCullough gets a handy sit and takes his time, the combination can prevail.
Race 7 No3 PRISONER’S DILEMMA
Trainer: Johnny Levins – Jockey: D O’Connor
With a cracking record in a limited amount of runs on Polytrack, PRISONEr’S DILEMMA makes plenty of appeal dropping back to six furlongs from seven. He looks set to get a strong pace to aim at, and can endorse the promise of his earning return to action.
Race 8 No6 BETRAYED
Trainer: Adrian McGuinness – Jockey: Colin Keane
Recent course and distance scorer BETRAYED went up 5lb for that narrow victory but it confirmed she’s a better horse on the all-weather than turf. The Lethal Force filly has what it takes to post back-to-back wins.
