Race 5

MANDALONG TAPIT has won two of his last three starts over this mile journey, the latest by nearly six lengths. He hit the front at the 200M mark and that was the last that the opposition saw of him. He gets to start from gate five and will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. As such, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card. SKY DIAMONDS is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys. She stayed on well when finishing fourth last time out over 1300M, just over a length back from the winner. She was returning from a 21 week break that day and from her handy draw three, she should give the males a good run for their money. ROYAL THUNDER drops in distance after going from jump to wire to win his last outing over ten furlongs by a length. He jumps from gate eight and is likely to attempt similar tactics here. He should be involved in the finish. 

Race 6

MALKOVICH has his hat-trick attempt after winning his last two starts over five furlongs and the latest over 1100M by two lengths. He took the lead as he entered the home straight and then battled all the way down to the line. His draw three will do him no harm and if showing the same determination today, he could be the one that they all have to beat. FORBIDDEN LOVE is a 3yr old filly taking on males and followed up her penultimate run victory over seven furlongs with a third place finish next time out over a mile, just over a half length behind the victor. She will have to negotiate draw nine, but she should be doing her best work late. MARSANNAY returns from a 19 week break, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials. He made good late progress when missing out on his hat-trick last time out, finishing third over 1300M, five and a half lengths adrift of the winner. He is drawn the widest of them all, but is likely to be drop out of the race in the early stages and then start picking off the front runners over the closing stages of the contest.  

Race 7

SAUSEDGE has consistent formlines to her name and finished second in her last outing over seven furlongs, just under a length behind the winner, this after coming the widest into the straight and being bumped at the 400M mark. She has gate three and seems likely to turn in another honest performance today. BETCHA FLYING is seldom far off the action and ended up in second place last time out over the mile, one and a half lengths back from the winner. She in turn was that same margin in front of the third horse. She will have to overcome draw ten, but gets ex-SA jockey Glynn Schofield in the irons, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle. ON THE WHITE TURF has won two of her last three starts over 1500M, the latest by one and a half lengths, despite being bumped shortly after the start. She gets gate eight and will have the services of another ex-SA jockey in the form of Keegan Latham. 

Race 8

ALLEZ REV has his hat-trick run after winning his last two starts over 1300M, the latest by two lengths when finishing strongly. He did however finish a two length third over 1100M three runs back, so the drop in trip should not be an issue. From draw two, he looks to be the one to side with in this line-up. LIBERTY SUN was hampered shortly after the start, but recovered well to be a staying on third last time out over six furlongs, just under two lengths behind the winner. He has gate five and should be right up there in the mix. GIDGEE GUY also finished third in his last start, but in his case, over 1100m, just over a half length behind the winner. He finished well in that outing and from his draw eleven he will likely be restrained in the early stages of the race, and then run at the leaders powerfully over the latter stages. He should be included in all bets.
