Day 2 Video Preview by Neil Morrice from Santa Anita:

Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint
Race 5

STORMY LIBERAL has been around the sprinting block but the 7yo is the logical answer and a must for all exotics. Peter Miller’s charge seeks to go back to back in this and from a cracking draw in 6 is placed perfectly to get into the shake up in an admittedly wide open renewal.

Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (Grade 1)
Race 6

The looming presence is OMAHA BEACH has resonated from the Santa Anita track through the week and Hollywoodbets’ odds on favourite can justify that lofty position in the market. Not only has he shown his love for this course, but he seems to know where the winning post is. But the stat that can’t be overlooked is his trainer Richard Mandella’s stupendous record at Breeders’ Cup. All nine of Mandella’s BC triumphs have been here at Santa Anita and my prediction is that he goes wire to wire for Mike Smith, A’s was the case in the Santa Anita Sprint a month ago.

Breeders’ Cup Sprint (Grade 1)
Race 8

Steve Asmussen has some big cards to play at the meeting, none less so than multiple scorer MITOLE is a winner of eight of his last ten. His win 8n the Metropolitan at Belmont when he beat Thunder Snow was the best we’ve seen from him, and though beaten in the Vanderbilt at Saratoga he bounced back to win the Forego here with daylight between him and his foes.

Breeders’ Cup Distaff (Grade 1)
Race 10

Asmussen fields a live contender in Midnight Bisou who is on an eight timer but the vote goes to the lightly-raced DUNBAR ROAD with Jose Ortiz Jnr back in the irons. She went into the Spinster at Keeneland 4 from 5 but couldn’t contain Blue Prize and Elate. I’ve watched the footage time and again and am convinced she can turn the tables with the winner. Chad Brown has some hot shots at the two day meeting but he’s adamant that Dunbar Road has as good a chance as them – prophetic words I hope, as she’s a 4-1 shot and I’m a player.
