Trainer Comments:
Jonathan Snaith: “Do It Again is a high class individual. You can ignore his last run as it was his second run after a long rest and he didn’t produce his form. He is much better than that and you can expect him to return to his best on Saturday. He is a huge runner.”
“DO IT AGAIN also had a very easy gallop as he is already fully fit. He strode out beautifully and Anton just held him together. He needed his last run and will return to his best this being his third run after a rest. He looks phenomenal and will run accordingly.”
Jockey Comments:
Anton Marcus’ comments on his ride Do It Again were, “He has had a great prep and is exceptionally well. In his usual strange manner, he later commented in case most of us weren’t already aware, “There are 17 other horses in the race, I haven’t studied the card as yet.” A rather bizarre statement considering he is an astute form studier who worked really hard to make it back from injury for this particular meeting.
Winning Form – Magic Tips Comment:
This is another Snaith charge who has enjoyed a solid preparation even though he was slightly disappointing when outrun late into 4th in the fast run Daily News 2000 last time out. The three-year old gelding still has obvious scope for improvement and will have his peak showing today but he usually jumps slowly and a likely false run event could severely hamper his chances. That said, his world class jockey knows all about improvising and the son of Twice Over is the firm second favourite in the betting market.
Verdict: Top quality three-year old, can still improve on last run but needs a strong tempo.
Hollywoodbets Comments:
Anton Marcus has ridden four Vodacom Durban July winners: Hunting Tower (2007), Dunford (2005), El Picha (2000), and Dancing Duel (1993).
