PANEL DISCUSSION
Our ever-present host for the evening is KZN’s finest TellyTrack presenter, the energetic, enthusiastic, charismatic, bold, loud and proud DEEZ DAYANAND. Of course Deez will share his invaluable opinions on the big event but as a special bonus he is certain to shed some light on the chances of the remaining rides of visiting jockey Jeffrey Lloyd whom he acted as agent for in this meeting.
The ultimate horseman and analyst is Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer, GARTH PULLER who continues to wow the industry with his abundance of knowledge and he headlines our trio of panelists. The two-time July winning jockey best remembered for his association with the brilliant Bush Telegraph is a living legend having gained much of his education from the great Peter Kannemeyer for whom he was successful in this event in 1979 aboard Over The Air.
Our usual regular panellist and Winning Form-sponsored jockey MUZI YENI is a great example of how the best rise to the top during adversity and after a torrid time on the island of Mauritius a year ago, the forever smiling ‘pocket rocket’ has enjoyed his most successful season to date which included 8 feature triumphs, 2 that came at the highest level, the SA Classic and President’s Champions Challenge and of course he was recently crowned Highveld Champion Jockey of the Season. He partners the top weight CORAL FEVER for trainer Robbie Sage and will be looking to improve on his best finishing position (4th in 2009) in this event.
The last of our panellists may be a brand-new face at ‘our’ party but this top heavyweight jockey, BERNARD FAYD’HERBE needs no introduction, having partnered the ‘great’ Pocket Power to a share of victory in this event in 2008, and he captured last year’s contest under the top weight Marinaresco after a brilliant ride. His successful partnership with ruling favourite AFRICAN NIGHT SKY ended as it was anticipated that he won’t be able to make the weight, but his new ride ELUSIVE SILVA has enjoyed a smart preparation and of course loves the track. Fayd’Herbe has some other good rides on the day including the shortest-priced favourite, the brilliant miler Snowdance and the juvenile Barahin so he could offer some meaningful feedback to the public.
