The daughter of What A Winter tries the 1250m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should go one better.

CHARLIE SQUADRON moved up like a winner last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Coup De Grace and from his good draw of three, he can shed his maiden tag.

SHE’S A RAINBOW produced a promising debut effort over 1250m on this course. She showed good speed, understandably raced green but stayed on nicely to finish third. The daughter of Silvano found plenty of betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work back at home.

MY BESTIE’S last four starts have been good. He was slow into stride over 1400m last time, but ran on well to finish third behind a highly-rated sort. He finished 0.75 lengths behind SACHDEV in his penultimate effort. He is 3kgs better off at the weights this afternoon and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If jumping on terms, he can return to winning ways.
