WINGS OF FIRE followed up her maiden win with a decent third-place finish in the Breeders Guineas Plate over 1400m. She set the pace that day, but was outrun in the closing stages. The daughter of Ideal World makes her Handicap debut today and tries the 2000m for the first time. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but is likely to use her early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.
Race 7: FLY MY FLAG(1)
Jockey: Mxothwa L – Trainer: Kotzen S
FLY MY FLAG is lightly raced with very good form to her credit. She was not disgraced when finishing third against males in her last start over 1400m. She was reported to have bled that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance. The daughter of Querari has plenty of ability and should take a power of beating.
Race 8: TEVYE (1)
Jockey: Mxothwa L – Trainer: Nel J
TEVYE ran a good race when finishing third in his last start over this C&D. He showed plenty of speed that day and challenged strongly all the way to the line. It must be noted that there have been multiple winners from that form line. He takes a slight drop in class and despite carrying top weight, he should be the one to beat.

Race 6: BEETHOVEN(3)
Jockey: Maujean C – Trainer: Laing Tara
BEETHOVEN is much better than his last start over 1200m. His form prior to that outing was good. He has won four times, finished second three times and third once from eleven starts on this course. His penultimate run when finishing second over this C&D against stronger company catches the eye. If repeating that effort, he should get back to winning ways.
