RACE 1

GREEN ENVY has good form barring his typical second run after a rest. He wasn’t disgraced last time out when beaten 2.5L by Plikclone and he should be coming back to peak fitness. SPEEDY OPTIMIST made a decent return to the racetrack last time out. That effort was after a one-year layoff and if he can build on that effort then he should make his presence felt from pole position. THE ABRAXAS resumes from a 41-day break. He is much better than his last two starts and the booking of Joao Moreira to ride suggests that he showing good work back at home.

RACE 2

SKY GEM brings ultra-consistent form into this race. He has placed in all three outings this term and if reproducing the form of his last start when beaten 0.8L at the wire, then he will take an absolute power of beating. ART OF RAW only got caught in the shadow of the post last time. He led throughout on that occasion and he may adopt similar tactics today. FORTUNE PATROL finished 0.5L behind the top selection in his last start. He meets him 0.5kgs better off at the weights but that may not be enough to turn the tables.

RACE 3

HERE COMES TED and Karis Teetan have struck up a decent partnership. The pair performed well in both of their runs this term and they look set to do so again. This Ferraris-trained inmate was a narrow winner last time when defeating Sprint Forward but he can make it back-to-back wins as he doesn’t take on the strongest of Class 4 rivals. VERY SWEET ORANGE is a quick starter who will be looking to get to the front of affairs. He will benefit from a 3kgs claiming apprentice, which brings him right into this contest. SUPER EIGHTEEN is much better than his last start suggests. If repeating his penultimate run when pipped by Jazz Steed then he must be considered for minor money.

RACE 4

ROYAL RACER is the narrow first selection. He has the form to pick up his second victory this term but will need some luck in running from his wide barrier position. ZHAN JIANG ROCKS should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest. He finished powerfully in his penultimate run and if repeating that effort then he can pose a threat to the top selection. JUDY’S STAR was only beaten 1.75L last time by Sunny Star. His rider Alexis Badel is fresh off a double on Sunday and it will be no surprise to see him in the winner’s enclosure today.

RACE 5

WHISKEY NEAT has been a bit disappointing to follow yet Joao Moreira still retains the ride and he may be able to get the victory that has been just out of reach. NOBLE DESIRE is having his third run after a rest and comes into this race shouldering bottom weight. HIN YUEN BIS finished 4L behind We The South who has won again since. He finished just 0.8L behind the winner in his penultimate start and looks to have decent each-way claims.

RACE 6

REEL BIZZY is coming along the right way. He was beaten by the narrowest of margins in his last start by Heavenly Thought. He may be rewarded for his consistency and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. LEAP OF FAITH finished 1.1L behind the winner last time. He is working towards another win and should be able to pose a threat to the top selection. NAMJONG PLUS finished 2L behind the top selection last time out. They meet each other on very similar weight terms and he may have to settle for the same result.

RACE 7

GREEN REIGN was only beaten 0.8L by Le Terroir last time. He gets the blinkers re-fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. HIGH RISE SOLDER is still yet to win a race but he is always right there at the business end of affairs. He should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a layoff and is the obvious threat in the race. The South African-bred LOBO’S LEGEND shoulders top weight in this contest. He performed fairly for his new trainer Paul O’Sullivan and with the expected natural improvement he can run into the money.

RACE 8

SKY DARCI is a talent that is clearly on the upgrade. He backed up his favourite status last time when a comfortable winner in this class and there looks to be plenty more to come from this individual. CELESTIAL POWER is an unexposed sort from Australia. He brings attractive form into this contest and the booking of Karis Teetan suggests that he is showing Frankie Lor good work back at home. FLYING BONUS has been narrowly beaten in his last two outings and has the form to fight out the finish of the lucky last race.
