Race 5

This looks a tricky race to start the Jackpot with seven unraced entrants in the field and a number of runners returning from rests, so some caution is advised. Of the raced runners, AYEMGEE may prove to be the best. She returns from a 36-week break but did finish third in her only barrier trial to prove her well-being. She finished second on debut over this distance, just under a length behind the winner and the form of that race has been franked. She will have to negotiate a wide 11 draw, but she should be right up there in the mix. PARTY LADY has her first run since a 22-week absence but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, winning the latest. She finished eighth on debut over six furlongs, four lengths off the winner, but three runners in that race have subsequently come out and won, so that appears to be a strong formline. She jumps from gate eight and could be the biggest danger to the top choice. SHOTGUN ALLI has her first run here but has had three barrier trials, winning the last two. She has a handy draw two and any betting support for her should be respected. LADY the same comment about betting support applies to SIMONE who also makes her debut here, but she has had all of four barrier trial, the latest being most encouraging. She will have to overcome a wide draw of fifteen, but if not too green, she should be involved in the finish.

Race 6

SAHRA has only had the two runs to date, winning on debut over five furlongs and then running second next time out over 1100M, 1.3L behind the victor, and was immediately rested for 17 weeks. She returns here after putting in a pleasing barrier trial. She starts from gate four and could emerge as the one that they all have to beat. MRS MAISEL jumped awkwardly and then tried to go from gun to tape before ending up third last time out over 1100M, just over four and a half lengths behind the winner. She has her peak run here after returning from a 16 week rest and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time.  If these have the desired effect, she should be right up there in the firing line, starting from draw two. ZOUMIST returns from a longer 22-week break but has not had a barrier trial, so her fitness will have to be taken on trust. She is a speedy sort who was only outrun late last time out over seven furlongs. She also jumped awkwardly in that outing, but she is sure to appreciate the drop in distance.

Race 7

GEO is a pacey gelding who also made good late progress when finishing fourth last time out over six furlongs. He then won a barrier trial before lining up here and jumping from draw four, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card. SIR ROCKET won his maiden race last time out over five furlongs when returning from a lengthy 60-week break and four barrier trials. He takes on stronger today, but has an even kinder gate two and could threaten the top pick. HENSCHEL jumped awkwardly before recovering well to stay on strongly and end up in fourth place last time out over six furlongs, just over three lengths behind the winner. He faces draw nine, but is likely to be dropped out of the race in the early stages and then start picking off the frontrunner over the latter stages of the contest.

Race 8

HE’S A GIVEN is recorded as finishing eighth last time out over a mile, 4.4L back from the winner, but he only got a clear passage at the 250M mark that day and did well to finish as close to the winner as he did. He is drawn in gate five and on that last effort seems likely to appreciate the extra ground on offer today. As such, he looks to be the value in the race. OFF HER ROCA is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she followed up her penultimate run victory over a mile with a second-place finish next time out over the same distance. She has gate three and is another who is likely to enjoy going over the extra distance. DUCHESS OF WINDSOR is a 5yr old mare who is seldom far off the action and although seventh in her last outing over 1550M, she was just under two and a half lengths behind the winner. She is drawn one inside the latter and should be included in all bets.
