RACE 1

VITAL SPRING has
placed in his last two outings. He was beaten by the narrowest of margins in
his penultimate run under Ho and it is encouraging to see the pair reunited. If
repeating that type of effort he should go incredibly close in the opening
contest. TIGERLAD finished a length
behind Fortune Hero last time. Moreira takes the ride and he may be able to
coax a little extra out of him where it matters most. GREAT SON produced a fair effort last time out. He gets a 3kgs
claiming apprentice up and can run into the money.

RACE 2

HAPPY HOUR was
unlucky to not find the winners box in his last start of 2020 when beaten
narrowly by the subsequent winner, Perfect To Play. It is positive that Purton has
kept faith in the ride and the pair will be looking to make amends. VIRTUS STAR is still in Class 5 after
scoring a hat-trick in this grade. He hasn’t finished too far off the winner in
his last two starts and looks fairly handicapped once again. CALIFORNIA LEGEND has placed third in
his last two outings and should run into the money with Belgian ace Soumillon
retaining the ride.

RACE 3

MY ECSTATIC is
still relatively unexposed. He got pipped in his last start over this c&d
and will be looking to earn his first victory. It is encouraging that Moreira
has kept faith in the ride and the pair should take a power beating. COURAGEOUS DRAGON finished a length
behind the top selection last time out. He is 1kg better off at the weights
which may just be enough to turn the tables. JAZZ STEED is never far off the winner. Both wins have come on this
course and he should be doing his best work late.

RACE 4

EVER FORCE is an
unexposed sort with only two runs under the belt. He was only beaten just under
a length last time which suggests that it won’t take him too long to earn his
first career triumph. PEAK TO PEAK
hasn’t finished far off the winner in his last two outings. He doesn’t take on
the strongest field today and should pose a serious threat to the top
selection. HELAKU NIGHT showed signs
of needing his first start in 2021. He should strip a much fitter horse and can
run into the money.

RACE 5

GOUTEN OF GARO
drew clear by a length last time out in this class to record his third career
victory defeating subsequent winner Happy Good Guys. He is 3kgs up in the
weights but should be up to the task and could make it back-to-back wins. WHISKEY NEAT has found one better in
his last two outings. The drop back to the minimum trip should be right up his
allay and he can complete the exacta. VIVA
CHEF
wasn’t disgraced in his last outing. He gets 1kg claiming apprentice
Poon in the saddle, whom he did win under November of last year.

RACE 6

V CHEVALIERS
brings consistent form into this race. He followed up his recent win well when
beaten just under a length and should give another good account of himself. DAILY BEAUTY has placed in his last
three starts. He was also beaten just under a length in his last start and is a
big threat, despite still being a one-time winner. DREAM WARRIORS produced a fair last run despite racing wide without
cover. With better luck in running, he could be upset potential in a contest of
this nature.

RACE 7

WILD WEST WING
finished 3.5 lengths behind recent winner KURPANY
last time out. He is 5kgs better off with his recent conqueror which should be
enough to turn the tables. FABULOUS
EIGHT
is an ultra-consistent sort. He is yet to win at Happy Valley but
performs well with Moreira in the saddle and is a leading contender.

RACE 8

DELIGHTFUL LAOS
followed up his recent win with a smart effort when just pipped by Smiling City
in his last start. The manner in which he finished off his race suggests
another win could some soon and he represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong
racing pundits.  MAGNIFICENT found a form return last time but looks held by SUNSHINE WARRIOR on his effort in
mid-November.

RACE 9

NOBLE STEED has
been narrowly beaten in his last two starts under Callan. He is yet to win on
this course but brings attractive form into the race and should be right there
in the lucky last. ROYAL BOMB earned
his first win on Hong Kong soil last time out. He makes his course debut and if
suited to the track configuration then he could make it back-to-back wins. KING’S CAPITAL is still lightly raced.
He ran a fair race last time when finishing fourth behind the subsequent winner,
Sight Success.
