SMART IDEA was beaten just under a couple of lengths by INNO LEGEND last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights now which should be enough to reverse the result. SHOWINA finished close-up behind the progressive A Smile Like Yours and a repeat of that effort should see him run into the money.

He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights, won his penultimate start at Happy Valley and looks set to make amends. DIAMOND STAR looks held by the top selection on his last start and may have to settle for another place.

WINS ALL is returning from a nine-month break which is a slight concern but if fully tuned up, can give a good account of himself.

DECISIVE TWELVE wasn’t disgraced last time when beaten just under three lengths by shock winner Astrologer. He won at this level in September and could be one to cause an upset. SERGEANT PEPPER is much better than his last start suggests. Purton takes the ride and he has strong claims on his Hong Kong debut effort.

HAPPY GATHERING was a one length winner in this class last time. He shoulders 3kgs more but still looks fairly-handicapped and could make it quick back-to-back wins. LUCKY ARCHANGEL is winless from three starts but is coming along nicely and further natural progress can see him earn his first career victory.

It is intriguing that Moreira has opted to ride TIANCHI MONSTER over the top selection and there shouldn’t be too much separating them at the wire. DYNAMIC EAGLE was beaten 1.5 lengths by the top selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and has obvious claim in a competitive field.

FAMILY FOLKS has been narrowly beaten in his last two outings and should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a break. He is 2.5kgs better off with DIAMOND BRILLIANT on his penultimate run and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. FIRST RESPONDER followed up back-to-back wins with two runner-up berths. He was beaten by Keep You Warm last time who produced a fair subsequent effort and merits respect in the lucky last.
