RACE 1
WELL DRAGON was only beaten just under a length in his last outing and on recent form looks to be the one to side with in this opening contest. The French-bred will be partnered by talented French jock Antoine Hamelin and the pair should make their presence felt. MANNA FROM HEAVEN has been freshened for 53 days and if repeating his penultimate run, will have a shout. SHANGAI POWER wasn’t disgraced last time out behind Fantastic Fabio. He should strip a fitter horse and can run into the money.
RACE 2
BRIGHT VISION is coming along the right way having entered the frame in his last two starts. He finished 1.75 lengths behind Bundle Of Delight last time and with more improvement to come, should take a power of beating. METHANE will shoulder just 57.5kgs thanks to his claiming apprentice and he looks fairly handicapped in this class. OWNERS STAR stayed on last time when only beaten 1.75 lengths at the wire. It is encouraging that Purton has kept faith in the ride and the pair merit healthy respect.
RACE 3
GRATEFUL HEART is an ultra-consistent sort. He followed up back-to-back wins with a decent effort when only collared in the shadow of the post. He will be looking to make amends and can get back to winning ways. FLYING GENIUS got up to win by a nose last time. He returns from a 43-day layoff and if building on that recent victory, can pose a threat to the top selection. EXPLOSIVE WITNESS is a Grade 3 winner over five furlongs. He has also earned two career wins over this c&d and can finish in the money.
RACE 4
KEEP YOU WARM has placed in his last three outings to date. He finished third behind the ultra-impressive Courier Wonder last time and on that effort alone, represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. HARMONY AND RICH will shoulder 59kgs thanks to his claiming apprentice. He drew clear to win his last run by a length and it will be no surprise to see him make it quick back-to-back wins. RACE 5
SEA ELITE has trialled since his last effort and should be in good condition coming into this race. He set a decent pace last time and was outrun in the latter stages by Ever Force. He will shoulder just 53kgs thanks to his claiming apprentice and should be right there at the business end. UNIVERSAL GO GO often gets going too late in his races. Moreira jumps aboard and he may be able to get him to produce his run somewhat earlier. JIANGXI STAMINA has been thereabouts recently. He shoulders a light weight and from his decent draw, can run into the money.
RACE 6
PEAK TO PEAK set a decent pace, to only get nabbed in the shadow of the post last time. He is a sort that has shown a considerable amount of ability and this looks the perfect race to earn his first career triumph. He will have plenty of followers and could be a banker on this card. STAR OF WUYI was beaten by a nose last time out. He shoulders just 1kg more and is another in search of a first career win. GRATWICK stayed on well last time and is improving with racing. Ruan Maia has kept faith in the ride and the pair can run into the money.
RACE 7
RAINBOW LIGHT finished a nose behind STAY CHILL last time out. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and should turn the tables on his recent conqueror. GLORIOUS LOVER brings some consistent form into this race. He is the class horse in the race and despite shouldering top weight, could be the one to cause an upset.
RACE 8
KINDA COOL only finished half a length behind Wind N Grass last time out. He shoulders top weight but on form is difficult to oppose in this contest. ALCARI finished a length behind the top selection last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result. AURORA PEGASUS has placed in his last two outings. He was only beaten a neck last time by Shouson and from pole position is a leading contender.
RACE 9
THE HULK finished just under a length behind TELCOM FIGHTERS last time out. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and can turn the tables on his recent conqueror. INCANTO PREPARED is a four-time c&d winner. If he can get across from his wide barrier without using up too much energy then he should bounce back to best form in the lucky last.
