He has finished second once and third twice from four starts on this course. He jumps from a good draw and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

HIROSHIMA ran a decent race when finishing fourth with the blinkers fitted last time. She should have finished closer to the winner as she hung in the latter stages. The daughter of Futura should be at home over today’s distance. If keeping to a straight line, she should shed her maiden tag.
Race 3: MISSION BEACH (5)

MISSION BEACH has returned to form in her last three starts. She was slow into stride last time, but stayed on nicely at the finish. She gets the blinkers fitted this afternoon and if the headgear has the desired effect, she can return to winning ways.
Race 4: SEA SPONGE (1)

SEA SPONGE has some good recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position last time, but was outrun in the latter stages. He has finished third twice from three starts over this C&D. He should strip a much fitter horse today and from pole position, can notch up his third career victory.

SATARA is the value bet on the card. She was settled near the rear of the field last time, but the manner in which she finished off her race caught the eye. It must be noted that Soiree has come out and won again since. The 5yo mare will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and with Luyolo Mxothwa in the saddle, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
