Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: BURNING WINGS (9)
Race 2: TAI GOLD (4)
Race 4: FREE TO WIN (3)
Race 5: KEEP THE LIGHTS (12)
TOP BET

Race 1: BURNING WINGS (9)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

BURNING WINGS is the best bet on today’s card. The son of Alado moved up like a winner in his last start but was outrun in the latter stages. The 1100m should be right up his alley and if suited to the turf, he should take a power of beating. It is encouraging that Anton Marcus keeps faith in the ride.

Race 2: TAI GOLD (4)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON – Trainer: Corne SPIES

TAI GOLD
was not disgraced when finishing sixth in the SA Nursery last time. The manner in which he ran on in the latter stages caught the eye. He drops back to maiden company and gets the services of Lyle Hewitson. The son of Wylie Hall gets the blinkers for the first time and if the headgear has the desired effect, he should be the one they all have to beat.

Race 4: FREE TO WIN (3)
Jockey: Lyle HEWITSON – Trainer: Garth PULLER

FREE TO WIN ran a very good race on debut over six furlongs on the Polytrack. He challenged strongly all the way to the wire but found one too good on the day. The son of Capetown Noir will enjoy the step up to the mile and from his good draw of three, he should go one better.

Race 5: KEEP THE LIGHTS (12)

Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

KEEP THE LIGHTS ON took on much stronger company in the Devon Air Stakes last time. She lost a length at the start that day and never got into the race. Her penultimate run over six furlongs on this course was promising. She drops back to Maiden company today and with Richard Fourie back in the saddle, she should be the one they all have to beat.

VALUE BET

Race 9: ROY’S MAGIC (9)
Jockey: Jarred L SAMUEL – Trainer: Kumaran NAIDOO

ROY’S MAGIC was not disgraced when finishing fifth in the KZN Winter Challenge 1200 last time. He likes racing over this C&D with a record of three wins, a second and two thirds from twelve starts. He continues to drop in the ratings and if putting his best foot forward, he should be the one they all have to beat.
