Horse Racing Tips: Hollywoodbets Scottsville Best Bets – Sunday 22 December 2019

To sweeten the deal, we’ll be adding a 10% winner’s bonus on all Tab Gold Pick 6 bets taken on-course!  

How does it work?

Punter takes a Pick 6 at the course (Hollywoodbets Greyville or Hollywoodbets Scottsville) with TAB.

If the punter wins, he/she will be entitled to a 10% bonus based on their dividend. For example, if the dividend paid out is R100 their bonus will be R10 (R100 x 10%).

The punter can only collect the bonus at one of the two racecourses and can only collect at subsequent race meetings. Example: Pick 6 for Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday 1 December 2019, the bonus will be available at the next meeting (and subsequent meetings), either at Hollywoodbets Greyville or Hollywoodbets Scottsville.

The bonus can only be collected at the Hollywoodbets cubicle at either racecourse.

In order for the punter to collect their bonus, they will first need to cash out their Pick 6 ticket at the course with TAB and get a receipt. The punter must then produce the original receipt at the Hollywoodbets cubicle in order to be paid out the 10% bonus.  The payout clerk must retain the original receipt.

Any payments over R5 000 will be paid via EFT.

PORTICO hails from the Paul Peter yard who brings down two of his horses to race on the day. He could start off the day with a winner in the form of PORTICO. The son of What A Winter produced an encouraging debut over today’s distance at Turffontein. He would have come on from that outing and should make the natural improvement under in-form Warren Kennedy. If all went well with his travels, he should be hard to beat. Mike Miller trains six of the nine horses entered in this race. 

Race 2: CHIEF OFFICER (8)

CHIEF OFFICER produced a good comeback run over this distance on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He raced from a handy position that day and managed to find another kick in the closing stages. The son of Captain Of All would have come on from the run under the belt and should strip much fitter for today’s contest. Jockey Tristan Godden will have a much better idea of how he likes to race and the pair could find themselves in the winners enclosure.

Race 5: ROY’S PHYSCO (1)
Jockey:  A Marcus –  Trainer: W Nel

This is a very weak MR68 Handicap and caution is advised once again. ROY’S PHYSCO is the form horse in the race and may be tough to beat. He has been campaigning over further in his last two starts. The drop to the mile should not pose a problem as he has finished second once and third once from five outings. It must be noted that the last time this son of Casino Prince won, jockey Anton Marcus was aboard. 

Race 9: ORCHID EXPRESS (14)
Jockey: A Marcus – Trainer: J Janse van Vuuren

ORCHID EXPRESS ran a good race at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time, despite losing a length at the start and getting cut into. The daughter of Oratorio is much better suited to the six furlongs and the fitting of the blinkers could just do the trick. It must be noted that Bint El Malak who beat her last time, came out to run a good second in her handicap debut.

Race 6: LINNGER LONGER (12)
Jockey: D Dillon – Trainer: S Humby

This is a competitive F&M Handicap and the narrow first choice is LINNGER LONGER from the Louis Goosen yard. The daughter of Linngari’s last run can be completely ignored as she was reported to be not striding out against males. She returns to her favourite course this afternoon where she has won once and finished third on two occasions. From her wide barrier position of twelve, it is likely that she will go forward and look for a good spot turning for home.
