CALYPSO BEAT was a little disappointing in a feature race over seven furlongs last time out and is quickly returned to sprinting where she has shown her best form so far. She is reunited with Anton Marcus for today’s contest.

Race 5: INVIDIA (3)
Jockey: A Marcus – Trainer: A Fortune

The visiting trainers may make things difficult for the local conditioners here with the first choice going to INVIDIA, who will be partnered by Anton Marcus once again. He has had two runs in CT both over seven furlongs but now drops back to the minimum distance. He gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time, presumably at the jockey’s suggestion. The gelding is the only runner on the day from the Ashley Fortune yard.

Jockey: A Domeyer – Trainer: C Bass-Robinson

RUSSET AIR’S last two formlines feature prominently in this race and although those were over different distances to today’s contest, they may be pointers to determining the outcome of today’s race.

The Justin Snaith yard may be able to complete the exacta here with ELUSIVE FORTUNE taken to be first past the post. Her overall form is consistent and she has recorded two of her three wins to date over this distance.

TWO FOR TEA improved in her second run in CT. That was only her third career start and she showed her liking for the mile. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but she is likely to have made further improvement since that outing.
