The daughter of Wylie Hall found betting support that day which would suggest that she had been showing good work at home. She would have come on from the outing and should make the natural improvement. S’manga Khumalo steps aboard this afternoon and may get his day off to a winning start.

LYNTYS LEGACY has shown good improvement since the gelding. He lost a length at the start and overraced last time, before running on nicely at the finish. It must be noted that both horses that finished second and third in that race have come out and won since. S’manga Khumalo is in the saddle this afternoon and if managing to settle this son of Crusade, the pair may find themselves in the winners enclosure.

ILLUSION is a lightly raced son of Var from the Paul Peter stable. He showed plenty of speed in his last start before lacking extra in the closing stages. It must be noted that True To Life has come out to win a feature race subsequently. He takes a drop in class this afternoon as well as a drop in distance which should suit him well. Warren Kennedy knows him well and the pair could find themselves in the number one box.
Race 8: MOHICAN (2)
Jockey: C Maujean – Trainer: J Janse van Vuuren
MOHICAN was an impressive maiden winner last time. He set the pace that day and despite hanging in the straight, he kept going well to hold off all challengers. The son of Campanologist takes on stronger this afternoon, but he looks to have some class about him and there may be more to come. From his wide draw, Chase Maujean is likely to look to place him in a positive postion turning for home.

MAMAQUERA found plenty of betting support when making a fair debut over six furlongs at the Vaal, five weeks ago. She was obviously showing good work back home. The daughter of Querari was making steady progress that day to finish just under seven lengths behind the winner. She would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement. Craig Zackey is riding with a lot of confidence at the moment and he could guide this filly to victory.
