G I JOE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He stayed on well at the business end of his last start over ten furlongs. The drop in trip should not pose a concern and from his good draw of three, he should be the one they all have to beat.

EDEN ROC is much better than his last start in the Grade 2 Gauteng Guineas suggests. He returns from a break today, which may have been what he needed. He re-unites with jockey Lyle Hewitson who was aboard the son of Var in his first three career victories.

She settled near the rear of the field that day and challenged strongly all the way down to the wire. This isn’t the strongest maiden field and she should be rewarded for consistency today.

She jumps from a mid-field draw and with 2.5kg claiming apprentice Jeffrey Syster in the saddle, she may be the one they all have to beat.
