International Racing: Echuca – Monday 25 May 2020

International Racing: Tamworth – Monday 18 May 2020

A tough and competitive nine-race programme is scheduled for Echuca on Monday. The best bet is in the lucky last race (HIGH EMOCEAN) in Race 9. She has been ultra-consistent in her career thus far and is definitely the horse to beat on paper.

Race 1
YULONG SOLDIER finished runner-up last time out and that formline is extremely strong with three horses that were behind him, having come out to win since. SHE ZED SO has been consistent this season on her home track and gets the blinkers removed for this outing. BOWNESS made surprise improvement last time out and shouldn’t be ignored in this contest.

Race 2
KUTAYHA found plenty betting support on debut which would seem to suggest that he was showing plenty of good work back at home. He ran on strongly to finish third and will surely come on from the experience. The New Zealand bred CHILULA placed last time out under John Keating and looks the biggest threat to the top selection. FRENCH HEIRESS and JIMMY GIRL will both benefit from racing fresh off a layoff and if returning fit, one of them could spoil the party.

Race 3
GOLD CURRENT is the value bet on the card. He was only just beaten in his last start in yielding conditions and with soft going predicted, he should put in a bold effort this afternoon. The filly VELVET ROCK won’t make things easy for the top selection and arguably has the most scope for improvement amongst the rest of the field. BICHIP TURF tries blinkers for the first time and if these have the desired effect, he can run into the places.

Race 4
PAL’S REWARD was only beaten under a length on debut and will come on leaps from the experience. FLIRTING has been ultra-consistent in the maidens and should be right there at the business end of affairs. BILBAO finished runner-up last time and then got gelded soon afterwards. He can make marked improvement to shed his maiden tag this afternoon.

Race 5
CITY ROGUE shows good early toe in his races and placed last time in soft conditions, which is encouraging. SLY SLOTH fought gamely to the line in his last start and that formline has worked out nicely with a winner coming from there since. DUBIAN MYTH will relish racing off a strong tempo and he can run into the places.

Race 6
This is a very open contest. CARWELKIN won her penultimate start under Miss Madison Lloyd, who is riding very well at the moment. KINGSTAR AMBER finished runner-up under this rider last time out and looks the biggest threat to the top selection. FURTHER IN won on debut at Swan Hill and could be anything. He must not be ignored in this contest.

Race 7
MISS SKEPTICAL was only just beaten last time out at Hamilton and looks a lively contender in a wide-open race. FIRST RESPONDER has finished runner-up in his last two starts and he should put in another honest performance racing up with the speed. HEDLEY’S LADY makes her handicap debut after being ultra-consistent as a maiden and she may well be up to the task of this level of competition.

Race 8
ECHO BOOMER has finished runner-up in all of her post maiden runs and her next win looks overdue. JOHANDOUGH will return racing fresh from a rest and she makes her handicap debut this afternoon. She looks progressive and should be up to the task at hand. THE VIEW is coming off a maiden victory and has the most scope for improvement in this field.

Race 9
HIGH EMOCEAN is the best bet on the card. She likes to race up with the speed and her consistent record speaks for itself. She looks hard to oppose in a field of this nature but will have to look out for KING LANDON. He placed under Daniel Stackhouse last time out must just be cautious of getting caught deep from his wide barrier position. SACRED LASS will benefit from a 1.5kgs apprentice allowance and is still a very lightly raced filly.
