Race 5.
A 4yr and a 3yr old filly could fight out the finish of this race and complete the exacta. CLIFFS OF BELAURA missed out on her hat-trick when finishing second last time out over 1100M, two lengths behind the winner. She was hampered at the 300M mark that day and should have finished closer to the victor as a result. She was however staying on well and should appreciate the extra ground on offer today. LA MEXICANA has only had the two runs to date, winning on debut over 1100M and then finishing third next time out over five furlongs, 1.7L back from the winner. She battled all the way down to the wire that day and if showing the same determination here, she could be the biggest danger to the top choice, jumping from her handy gate two. FORTUNE FOLLOWS is seldom far off the action and raced wide into the straight before ending up in second spot last time out over six furlongs. He is drawn one outside the latter and should be involved in the finish.

Race 6.
WEST WIND put six lengths between herself and the opposition when winning her last outing over this c&d from jump to wire. She clearly enjoyed going over the extra distance and should employ the same front-running tactics here to secure her fifth career victory. From draw four, she is taken to be the best bet on the day’s program. CARRIE goes for her hat-trick after winning her last start over ten furlongs by nearly one and a half lengths. She was hampered at the start that day, which makes the victory that much more encouraging. She will have to negotiate a wide draw ten, but nevertheless she could still threaten the top choice. Although REALM OF FLOWERS is recorded as finishing eighth last time out over a mile, that was in a Group 2 event where she only got going very late, suggesting the she should enjoy going over the extra distance today. She is sure to put her draw two to good use.

Race 7.
BEAUTIFUL BEE is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys. She missed out on her hat-trick last time out when finishing fourth over five furlongs, two and a half lengths back. She had won her previous two starts over this five furlong sprint and from draw five, she will be looking to bounce back to winning ways. YOUNG LIAM followed up his penultimate run victory over five furlongs with a fourth place finish next time out over the same trip, two lengths behind the victor. He returns from a 16 week rest and has not had the benefit of a barrier trial so his fitness will have to be taken on trust, but he is drawn one outside the former and could be his biggest danger. SHENANIGAN CITY finished fourth in his last outing over 1100M, two and a half lengths behind the winner, but drops back to the five furlongs today, the distance over which he won his penultimate start. He has an even better draw of gate two and should be included in all bets.

Race 8.
DUNE FIELD has his first run since a 30 week break and has not had a barrier trial, but he has his hat-trick run here after being a dead-heat winner of his last outing over seven furlongs. He hit the front at the 350M mark that day and then showed plenty of courage to hold on to share the spoils. He jumps from a handy gate two and could prove good enough to follow up here to complete his double. PRINCE OF HELENA has consistent formlines to his credit and is drawn one outside the top pick. He overraced early in his last outing when finishing third over 1300M, just under a length behind the winner and is likely to turn in another honest performance today. EASY BEAST has shown steady improvement in his last three runs, ending up in second place last time out over this c&d, one length behind the winner. He faces a wide draw fifteen, but on the plus side, he will have 3kgs removed from his back courtesy of his claiming apprentice. FUDGED is a 7yr old mare taking on males, but she attempted to go from jump to wire before finishing fifth last time out over 1500M and is sure to appreciate the drop in trip. She has gate nine to overcome, but will have 1.5kgs removed from her allocated weight thanks to her claiming apprentice. She should not be overlooked in what appears to be a very open contest.
