RACE 1

This is a competitive opening contest where some caution is
advised. VIRTUS STAR backed up his
favourite status last time when defeating WINNERS
BROTHER
. He is now 2kgs worse off at the weights which should make it
tougher but he can fight out the finish of the opening contest. TREASURE CHEST finished third behind
the top selection last time out. He is well-drawn and is also 2kgs better off
at the weights with his recent conqueror. NITRO
EXPRESS
brings moderate form but is having his third run after a rest and
can upset.

RACE 2

NUNCHUKS followed
up his recent win with a solid effort. He ran on from far back on that occasion
and if repeating that type of effort then he will mowing down the frontrunners
in the dash to the wire. CROWN AVENUE
hasn’t finished too far off the winner in his last three outings. He jumps from
a midfield draw and if not too far back when turning for home then he can pose
a threat to the top selection. SHADOW
BREAKER
may opt to dictate as he has won over this c&d utilising
front-running tactics in the past.

RACE 3

SHINING ON
followed up his comeback victory with a decent third place finish. If repeating
his comeback effort when running on from last turning for the straight then he
can get back to winning ways. COURAGEOUS
DRAGON
finished runner-up in his comeback run. He gets another top French
rider in the saddle and if building on that effort he can challenge for top
honours. MY ECSTATIC is an unexposed
son of All Too Hard from the Group 3 winning mare More Radiant. He gets Zac
Purton in the irons and any betting support for him needs to be respected.

RACE 4

WILD WEST WING
won with a ton in hand last time out. This Size-trained inmate is a progressive
individual and there looks to be plenty more to come. TRAVEL DATUK was beaten 1L by the top selection last time out. He
is now 2.5kgs better off at the weights which should be enough to turn the
tables. WINNER’S HEART was beaten
2.75L by the top selection last time. He is now 4kgs better off at the weights,
which suggests he can reverse the result.

RACE 5

ALL YOU KNOW
almost made it back-to-back wins last time. He is having his peak run and
should be absolutely cherry-ripe. He takes on a competitive field though and is
a narrow first selection. KING DRAGON only failed by 0.5L last time
when beaten by Sumstreetsumwhere. He looks fairly-handicapped and it is
encouraging that champion jockey Zac Purton has kept faith in the ride. INCANTO PREPARED won impressively last
time. He beat Nunchuks – Runs in Race 2.

RACE 6

LUCKY QUALITY
brings ultra-consistent form into this race. He hasn’t finished far off the
winner in his last four outings and he looks fairly-handicapped in this
contest. WINS ALL followed up his
recent win with a fair effort last time. He should be cherry-ripe having his
third run after a layoff and looks a certain threat. SIMPLY FLUKE has placed in his last three outings. He was beaten by
Wild West Wing last time – Runs in Race 4.

RACE 7

SACRED IBIS was only beaten narrowly last time out. He found one
better in the form of Naboo Star when beaten by a nose at the wire. He should
be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest and should take a power of
beating.  HELENE WISDOM STAR showed some pace in his local debut. He jumps
from a wide barrier position but can make vast progress in his second Hong Kong
start. WEALTHY DELIGHT was only
beaten by 2L last time. He doesn’t take on the strongest of fields today and
can run into the money once again.

RACE 8

FABULOUS EIGHT
was beaten by the narrowest of margins last time out. He is a useful type that
looks fairly-handicapped in this contest and he represents decent each-way
value for Hong Kong racing pundits. WE
THE SOUTH
is a solid pacesetter and if allowed a healthy lead he may be
difficult to peg back in the closing stages. HEART CONQUERED is yet to win in Hong Kong but he has finished
third in his last two outings and must be considered for minor money.

RACE 9

ARES is the best
bet on the card. This Lor-trained inmate is a progressive sort that is clearly
on the upgrade. He dictated terms successfully last time when a start-to-finish
winner and there looks to be plenty more to come from this individual. HAPPY GOOD GUYS stayed on well last
time when beaten 1.5L at the wire. He shoulders just 51.5kgs in this contest
and should be right there at the business end. CALIFORNIA DEEPSHOT will benefit from a 2.5kgs claiming apprentice
and at the weights he also looks a strong contender.

RACE 10

GOOD LUCK FRIEND
is a talented sort who can close off proceedings. He has won four races in Hong
Kong from just eight starts and his recent form suggests he is coming along the
right way. ALL IN MIND finished runner-up in his last two
starts for the break. If returning fit then he should be able to pose a threat
to the top selection. HIGHLAND FORTUNE showed signs of needing his comeback
effort. He will strip fitter and with the natural improvement that is expected
he can find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
