Our tipsters came in hot this past Sunday at Hong Kong:

Zac Purton is riding at the top of his game and is now just one winner behind Joao Moreira. Both riders have a competitive book of rides for the evening which will make racing that much more interesting. The best bet of the evening comes in the first race with GALAXY RACER who is returning to best form and meets the right field.

Best Bet: GALAXY RACER (Race 1)
Value Bet: BLOOMING SPIRIT (Race 4)

Race 1
GALAXY RACER is the best bet on the card. He has shown signs of returning to best form in his last two starts. He was bumped at the 200m mark in his last start, which may have cost him winning the race. Vincent Ho who finished second on him in his penultimate start steps back in the saddle and the pair may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. GREAT HARVEST almost stole the race in his last start as he set the pace and was caught in the dying stages. Matthew Chadwick retains the ride from a good draw and the pair may be hard to peg back in the closing stages.

Race 2
BEST ALLIANCE enjoyed the return to racing on the turf in his last start. He did not have the best of luck in running as he was crowded at the start and was hampered between the 400m and 200m mark. Grant van Niekerk is in the saddle once again and with a bit of luck in running, he may be the one to beat. CASA DE FORCA has decent recent form to his credit. The manner in which he has finished off his last two races over this course and distance have been encouraging. Joao Moreira knows this son of Siyouni well and the pair merit healthy respect.

Race 3
WINNING WAYS is in top form. He kept on well in his last start over this course and distance but was reported to have blood in his trachea. Zac Purton rides this son of Lope de Vega once again and the pair should be hard to beat. OVERSUBSCRIBED should have finished closer in his last start over this course and distance when finishing 0.75 lengths behind the top selection. He is worse off at the weights this evening and may find it difficult to turn the tables. Joao Moreira who finished second on him in his penultimate start steps back into the saddle.

Race 4
BLOOMING SPIRIT is the value bet on the card. He stepped up to this class for the first time in his last start. Despite being hampered in the early stages of that race, he moved up well and was only caught very late in the race. Grant van Niekerk rides from a good draw and the pair should be tough to beat. METHANE has come back to best form in his last two starts. Despite racing three-wide last time, the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. Chad Schofield who rode him that day will have a better idea of how to get the best out of this son of Pierro.

Race 5
MEHBOOB is in top form. He raced from a handy spot in his last start over this course and distance and kept on well at the business end of the race. From pole position and with Zac Purton retaining the ride, he may be the one to side with here. SUPER ALLIANCES’ last start can be completely ignored as he was reported to be lame. He produced two good efforts prior to that race over this course and distance. Based on those efforts, he should pose a big threat to the top selection.

Race 6
DANCING FIGHTER has won his last two starts well. He took the lead at the 200m mark in his last start and drew off well for the victory. He does have to overcome another wide draw tonight, but with Joao Moreira retaining the ride, the hat-trick is very much on the cards. WIND N GRASS showed good signs of returning to best form in his last start. He made up a lot of ground in that race and if repeating that run, he should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Race 7
CINQUANTE CINQ got going too late when taking on slightly stronger opposition in his last start over this course and distance. He won his penultimate effort in this class under Joao Moreira and if repeating that effort, he has a good chance of notching up his third career victory. NABOO STAR should have finished much closer in his last start over nine furlongs. He was blocked for galloping room from the 200m mark and was crowded in the late stages of that race. With a bit of luck in running, he should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Race 8
GREEN REIGN has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. The manner in which he finished off his last race after racing three deep was eye-catching. Joao Moreira retains the ride from a good draw and the pair may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. BEAUTY SPARK has finished third in his last four starts. He didn’t get off to the best of starts last time, but the manner in which he kept on at the business end was encouraging. Zac Purton does duty once again and they should pose a big threat to the top choice.
