International Racing: Kranji – Sunday 3rd November 2019

 Kranji – Sunday 3rd November 2019

Ten races are carded this Sunday 3rd November 2019, with some fairly competitive racing for punters, who will be looking for a bit of value.

The best bet on the card comes early, in the form of ADMIRAL WINSTON, in the 3rd race and the lightly raced son of Declaration of War should strip a lot fitter for his second run after a rest and should win this time. BLUE CHIP is in some useful form and should fight out the finish, in a competitive looking Class 5 event. He too has his second run after a rest and will be cherry-ripe for this. See more below.
Best Bet: ADMIRAL WINSTON (Race 3)

Race 1 – 06:55

Selections: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 – 12

GOLDEN WIN looks the safe option for punters to start
off on a positive note. He returns to the Turf after three good efforts on the
Poly track, with his latest coming after a 3,5-month absence from the course.
That was a solid comeback run and he will no doubt strip a lot fitter this
time. From an improved draw, he still has plenty of scope to go even closer
here and he looks tough to beat. HYDE PARK has dropped to a competitive
rating, for his first run back in this lesser class of opposition. He has been
finishing just off them in Class 4 company and despite the horrendous draw he
is tasked with overcoming, he should be involved in the finish. Duric certainly
has the credentials to do exactly that and he gets the mount. CIZEN BOSS
won his last start, when returning to this course and distance after a good
effort in his penultimate start on the Poly. Lerner knows him well and he
retains the ride here, with the tough job of overcoming gate 12. With that
said, he appears to be a progressive sort with just the 8 starts to his name
and with that 5-point penalty for that latest win, he could still have the
handicappers measure and deserves to go in. OUR SHOWCASE put in a solid
effort when dropping into this class, last time out. That was on the Poly and
he should enjoy reverting back to the Turf. Collett takes the mount and he’ll
be right there at the finish.
Race 2 – 07:25

Selections: 2 – 12 – 4 – 6- 10

BARBARIAN has just the two starts to his name, with
his latest being a promising effort over the 1200m on Turf. That was after a
fair debut on this surface, when overcoming a wide draw to box on late for a 6th
place finish. He makes his reappearance for his third official start here and
the son of Redoute’s Choice looks an attractive proposition, with Benny
Woodworth up. Drawn well again, he’s the one to beat. WHERE SHE’S HAPPY
is a three-year old Blackfriars filly, who also has just the two starts behind
her. She went well over this course and distance in her latest effort and
Michael Rodd retains the ride here, from a respectable draw. With plenty of
scope for improvement, she’s the biggest threat to the top selection and must
be included. HEALTHY STAR has impressed in both trials over this course
and distance and he makes his keenly anticipated official debut here. He does
have a tough draw to overcome, but he clearly has tons of ability and with a
bit of luck in running, he’ll be right there. MOONGATE STAR won his
trial impressively over this course and distance and the son of Atlante makes
his debut from a bit of a tricky draw. He could be anything and the best advise
to his followers would be to keep and eye on the betting markets prior to this
race.
Race 3 – 07:55

Selections: 7 – 1 – 3 – 2 – 9

ADMIRAL WINSTON returns form a 3-month absence after
a fair effort in Group 2 company last time out. He will relish the return to
the Poly track, having performed well on this surface in his first two starts.
Drawn in pole position, he gets the services of Woodworth and the son of
Declaration Of War looks tough to oppose with the expected improvement. The top
weighted FIRST CHOICE has featured well over this course and distance in
his last two starts, having his latest after a solid 3rd in his
penultimate run. He lands a similar draw and with just the 5-point penalty for
that latest win, he has a realistic chance of following up. SNIP has
been thereabouts in his last three starts over this course and distance and he
finally lands a draw that will go a long way to aid his chances here.
Apprentice Eaton claims the 3kg’s off his back and that brings him even further
into the equation, on the back of some useful form in this class. He rates a
big threat and must be included. MIGHTY CONQEUROR had excuses in his
latest effort and he will be looking to make amends here. He lay inwards at the
start of that run, before taking a hold of the bit and racing keenly
thereafter. He has dropped to competitive rating in recent times and on his
penultimate start over this course and distance, he cannot be discounted. From
another useful draw, Saifudin retains the mount and he’ll fancy his chances here.
Race 4 – 08:30

Selections: 2 – 1 – 6 – 1 0 – 4

WHITSLE GRAND gets the blinkers removed for his 5th
start here, after a very encouraging effort on this surface last time out –
despite the rider being sanctioned for not riding him out. That was when trying
the Poly for the first time and he lands a plum draw here. He has plenty of
room for improvement and should be hard to beat. GAMELY is still a
maiden after 18 starts, but he has been knocking on the door for some time now
and he looks a promising option to follow, with the 3kg claimer up. He has his
second run back after a promising start and from pole, he must be included. MA
BAO BAO
has a bit more to come and he gets the 1kg claimer up here. He put
in a solid effort in his penultimate start, in Class 5 company. That was a from
a wide draw, when reverting back to this surface. As far as the stipes report
was concerned in his follow up attempt last time out, he was inexplicably
disappointing. If finding that form he displayed in his penultimate start, he’ll
go close. MY MONEY is in solid form and despite his tricky draw, he went
within a length of the winner in his last start, from the same barrier. He was
caught wide without cover in that run, so he’ll be looking for a bit more luck
in running this time and if finding a smoother passage, he’s going to be
finishing strongly and must be included.
Race 5 – 09:00

Selections: 4 – 1 – 8 – 2 – 5

 BLUE CHIP has
been a consistent sort so far and he must have a bit more to come. He gave a
solid account of himself last time out and the son of Shocking will enjoy this
step up to the 9-furlongs. He finds a fair draw and Thompson retains the ride.
With the visor removed this time, he’ll be looking to convert that good form
into a win and rates the one to beat. HENG KINGDOM returns to the
Turf course after four solid efforts on the Poly. He finds a good draw here and
Collett retains, having just missed on his last time out. He’ll have no issues
stepping up to this trip and the son of Animal Kingdom looks to be an obvious
inclusion. PISCA PISCA won his last start, when stepping into this class
of opposition. That was over the 1400m and steps up an extra 2-furlongs here.
Having received just the 5-point penalty for that win, he can repeat that
effort. Lerner retains the ride and from another useful draw, he rates a big
threat. ZA’EEM has dropped to a much more competitive rating now and he
drops back to Class 4 company, for another stab at the winners’ box. Drawn 2,
he’ll be looking to repeat that penultimate start when showing a good turn of
foot over the mile. Shafrizal retains the ride and he’s a worthy inclusion
against this lesser class.
Race 6 – 09:35

Selections: 1 – 7 – 3 – 2 – 9

AL GREEN drops into this class after performing
fairly well over this course and distance recently, against Class 3 opposition.
Having dropped 10-points in his last five starts, he’ll be looking to
capitalise off this much lower mark and that makes his 4th career
win imminent. Drawn well, Duric takes the mount and he should win from the
front. ROYAL PAVILLION is a two-time winner from 13 starts, having won
his penultimate start over this course and distance. He followed that up with a
very respectable effort last time, after picking up a 6-point penalty for that
win and it is no surprise to see Shafrizal retaining the ride. He finds another
useful draw and should be involved in the finish. HOWL can be excused
for that disappointing last start, when taking a bump at the start from a wide
draw before being declared lame the day after. That was in his near-fore and he
also picked up a deep cut above his off side eye. He can be followed on his two
prior runs when finishing 3rd over 6-furlongs, which happened to be on this
surface. Noh takes the 1kg off his back and he must be included for the minor
placings. FULIFE BRILLIANCE returns from a three-month break and he’ll
be looking to make a positive impression first up, after finishing just off them
in his last two starts. Having been thereabouts in his trial, he’ll be ready
for this and can feature on his best form to date.
Race 7 – 10:10

Selections: 2 – 1 – 6 – 8 – 3

MONTOYA is knocking on the door and his winning turn
is just around the corner, if not this time. The son of High Chaparral should
enjoy this step up in trip and having dropped two points in the ratings in his
last two starts, he looks well handicapped off his current mark. He lands a
very handy draw and gets the services of Benny Woodworth for his tenth start
here. That will allow his to settle a bit closer to the front and he should be
a massive runner. CLOUD SHADOW has been right there since his luck with
draws improved in his last two starts. He lands anther one here and he should
relish the extra furlong. Noh retains the ride and on his last two starts,
he’ll certainly be involved in the finish and must be included. SHANGANI
is back on the Turf after three fair starts on the Poly, having won his
penultimate over the mile. He finished second in his last start on the Turf and
that too as over the mile. Having stepped up to the 1700m last time out, he
lands a draw and the services of Vlad Duric this time and that will go in his
favour. He’s knocking on the door and must go in. GOLD COMPANY has
slipped to a competitive mark of 32 and he could’ve gone a bit closer than that
1.60-length beating last time out, having been steadied at a crucial stage of
his challenge. He was flashing home late, placing his eye-catching turn of foot
on display and he will be looking to utilise that again, from a wide draw.
He’ll be charging home late and wouldn’t be a surprise winner.
Race 8 – 10:45

Selections: 5 – 7 – 8 – 4 – 1

PENNYWISE received a 5-point penalty for that good
latest win over 5-furlongs. The son of Pure Prize has had an impressive start
to his career and one only has to look at that effort three starts back, to see
what he is capable of. A solid third in Class 1 company on that occasion, that
was over the 5.5-furlongs and he can certainly follow up over this 6-furlong
trip. Beaten just over 7-lengths over a mile in Gr1 company five starts back,
there should be no doubts about this trip. From a perfect draw, he’ll be touch
to catch from the front. LIM’S DREAM is another contender with an
impressive record thus far. He will relish this return to the Poly after a fair
effort on Turf last time and despite the slightly trickier draw, Woodworth
retains and he will feature prominently here. MURAAHIB has taken the
rise into Class 2 company with consummate ease and he could’ve gone a lot
closer in his first effort at this level last time, had he not raced wide
without cover for much of the way. That was over 1400m and he will relish this
decreased trip, having won over this course and distance three starts back.
With just the 4 starts under his belt, he has plenty more to come and must be
considered. NOWYOUSEE finished marginally in front of the second
selection last time out, that was at the 19th time of asking and he
looks set for another huge effort here. From another good draw, Moore retains
and despite the fact that he is probably better suited to the Turf, he rates a
reasonable threat to the top three.
Race 9 – 11:15

Selections: 3 – 1 – 12 – 2 – 9

RED ROVER enters Class 3 company following two good
wins in a level below this. Both of those efforts came over this course and
distance, with his latest being a 3-length victory over his opposition. That
was just his 4th start here and he will have more to come. Drawn2,
Woodworth takes the ride and he’ll be a major contender. SUPER FORTUNE
has dropped to a competitive rating and he showed good improvement first up in
this class last time, when running on strongly over the final two furlongs.
Collett retains the ride and he will enjoy the drop to the minimum trip. The
son of Mossman has plenty of speed and he could be a big player at the business
end. SUPER SMART has just had the 10 starts to his name and he has
notched up three wins and three seconds. He has featured prominently since
stepping up to this class in his penultimate start, but he is drawn wider this
time and that will make things a lot tougher this time. The trip may also be a
touch on the sharp side, but with the 1kg claimer up, he’ll be right there. LOHNRO
GOLD
has received a 5-point penalty for that win over this course and
distance last time out and that was made even more impressive considering the
wide draw he had to overcome. He is drawn even wider here, but he has plenty of
gate speed and with the 3kg claiming apprentice up, he could be tough to catch
if finding a soft lead and must be considered.
Race 10 – 11:45

Selections: 8 – 1 – 7 – 2 – 5

MACH appears to be the obvious selection for punters
to finish off on a high note. The son of Casino Prince has been in solid recent
form, having finished in the first three places on ten occasions from his
twenty starts here. He has been knocking on the door and he showed a good turn
of foot when overcoming a wide draw last time, to finish a respectable 3rd.
He lands another tough draw here, but with a more experienced rider up this
time, he will be expected to flash home late for the lions share of the stake
money. IT’S GOT IT ALL notched up his first win here last time out, over
this course and distance and despite the 6-point penalty for that win, he lands
a plum draw and that will allow him to find that customary handy position with
relative ease. John retains the ride and he’ll be tough to peg back in the
closing stages. GRAND CHOICE brings some good Turf form with him to this
event and he finds another useful draw, for his third outing in this class. He
has gone close over this course and distance before and Woodworth jumps back
up, having ridden him a few times prior to his last start. He’ll be searching
for a forward run at the off and he too could be tough to get past in the
closing stages. JUSTICE LIGHT has also been knocking on the door prior
to his last start, when landing a tricky draw to overcome. That was when
finishing behind the second selection, having overcome a wide draw. He lands
another one here, but gets the 2kg’s taken off his back for his claiming
apprentice and that brings him right into the equation. He’ll be looking to
race up with the early speed and should be fighting out the finish.
