International Racing: Moulins – Friday 29 May 2020

International Racing: Lyon-Parilly – Thursday 28 May 2020

Racing heads to Moulins for an open ten-race programme on Friday. The meeting includes a Hurdle Race and a Steeple Chase Race. The best bet comes in Race 10 in the form of KENOHOPE. The grey gelding finished second in his comeback run last time and meets much weaker opposition today. Theo Bachelot retains the ride this afternoon and the combination should take a power of beating.

Race 1 – PRIX KLEBER
The first race on the card is over the hurdles over a distance of 3500m. LESS NOUR REVER was an impressive winner of his last start over 3300m at Vichy. What makes the win even more encouraging is that it was his first time trying the jumps. He returns from an eight-month break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If fit and well, he should be the one they all have to beat. ROI D’ETOILE is making his jumps debut this afternoon. He followed up his maiden victory with a good third-place finish last time. If suited to the hurdles, he should be one of the leading contenders for the placings. SHE’LL BE RIGHT is an unraced daughter of Youmzain from the Adeline De Boisbrunet stable. Jockey Dylan Ubeda does duty this afternoon and if not too green, has a decent shout of finishing in the money. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 2 – PRIX HYERES III
This is a steeplechase contest over 3800m. NOIR ET ROSE was an impressive winner of his last start over this distance at Nimes. He loves racing over this trip with a record of three wins, three seconds and a third-place finish from fourteen attempts. He gets the services of a 4kg claiming apprentice on his return and if not in need of the run, he should notch up his 12th career victory. CRACK MATH showed good signs of returning to best form when finishing second over 4200m at Strasbourg last time. He loves racing on this course having won once and finishing second once from as many starts. He is having his second run after a rest today and should strip a much fitter horse. DOLUT won his last start by two lengths over 4200m at Saint Brieuc. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from eight career starts to date. He should come into this contest as one of the fitter horses and must be included in all bets in this type of field.

Race 3 – PRIX PRESIDENT RAYMOND STEIDEL
MEHANYDREAM got back to winning ways in his last start over the minimum trip at Vichy. The step up to the seven furlongs should not pose an issue for the son of Silver Frost as he has won once and finished third once from three attempts over this trip. That run would have brought him on and he should have more to come this afternoon. IL VINCITORE won his maiden over nine furlongs last time. He has won once and finished third once from four starts this season. Theo Bachelot takes the ride for the first time and the combination must be included in all bets. MUZY was in need of his last start over the minimum trip at Vichy. He will enjoy the rise in distance today as he has finished second three times and third twice from six attempts over this distance. The son of Penny’s Picnic should strip a much fitter horse today and with Alexis Badel back in the saddle, he should be right there in the run down to the finishing post.

Race 4 – PRIX DU JAZZ
SANDY DREAM is the value bet on this afternoon’s programme. She finished under a length behind the winner in her comeback run over this distance at Strasbourg last time. The daughter of Anodin should strip a much fitter horse this afternoon and with her 1.5kg claiming apprentice Laura Grosso retaining the ride, she may be the one to side with here. BRIGANTINE was not disgraced when finishing fourth in her comeback run last time. She will enjoy the step-up in distance today and with her 1.5kg claiming apprentice Elaura Cieslik retaining the ride, she should be the one to throw out the biggest challenge to the top selection. SILVER POKER could be the first male past the winning post. He was in need of his last start over a mile at Lyon-Parilly. He likes racing on this course having won once and finishing second once from six starts. He should strip fitter this afternoon and must be included in all bets.

Race 5 – PRIX DU CREA
PORTA SARAGOZZA is much better than her last start over 2500m at Saint-Cloud suggests. She won her maiden over eleven furlongs on this course. The four-year-old filly returns from a six-month break this afternoon, during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of this outing, she should be the one they all have to beat. PRINCESSE MATHILDE did not shape in Great Britain in her last two starts and has returned to France. She produced some decent form in this country before leaving for the United Kingdom. She gets the services of a 1.5kg claiming apprentice today, which should help her cause. The daughter of Dalakhani should be the one to throw out the biggest challenge to the top selection. KEA has not finished too far off the winner on the all-weather surface in recent outings. She tries the twelve furlongs for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be right there in the fight out to the finish.

Race 6 – PRIX DE LA VALSE
YORK CHOP produced a very good comeback run when finishing third over ten furlongs at Vichy last time. He should enjoy the step up in distance this afternoon as he has finished third once in his only attempt over the trip. He should strip a much fitter horse and with his regular 3.5kg claiming apprentice aboard, he has a good chance of getting rewarded for consistency. BELLA KASTA was in need of his last start over ten furlongs at Vichy. He produced some decent form prior to being given a break. He tries the today’s distance for the first time, but the manner in which he races suggests that he will enjoy the extra trip on offer. He jumps from pole position and will get the services of a capable 4kgs claiming apprentice. AMA WILD LIFE is a maiden taking on winners, but he is lightly raced and his last start was very encouraging. He returns from a six-month break this afternoon, during which time he would have strengthened up. He is crying out for the extra distance on offer and should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Race 7 – PRIX NATHANAELLE ARTU
NI CHAUD NI FROID is a maiden taking on winners, but she has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings against stronger company. She returns from a six-month break this afternoon, during which time she would have strengthened up. She makes her course debut and if suited to the track, should be the one they all have to beat. KAILYN got back to winning ways in her last start over ten furlongs at Strasbourg. She jumps from a good barrier position this afternoon and if repeating her latest outing, she should pose a big threat to the top choice. ART OF FUSION may be the first male past the winning post. He was in need of his last start over ten furlongs at Vichy. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. He jumps from pole position and gets the services of a 4kg claiming apprentice. He should strip much fitter and must be included in all bets.

Race 8 – PRIX ROCK’N ROLL
KING SIYOUNI’S last three starts have been decent, the last two of which were on the all-weather surface. He tries the eleven furlongs for the first time and the manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will enjoy the extra distance on offer. He gets the services of a 1.5kg claiming apprentice and if fit and well, should be the one they all have to beat. NOW WE KNOW made the expected natural improvement to finish under two lengths behind the winner of nine furlongs last time. He was given a six-month break since that outing and should return a much stronger type. He gets the services of his regular 2.5kg claiming apprentice and if not in need of the run, should be right there in the run down to the finish. VEDELA DREAM produced a promising debut effort when finishing two lengths behind the winner over nine furlongs at Lyon La Soie on the all-weather surface. She would have gained from the experience and if suited to the turf, she should make the expected natural progression.

Race 9 – PRIX CROISIEUROPE (PRIX DE LA MUSIQUE)
ZAVERNA has produced two good runs since returning from a two-month break. She tries the eleven furlongs for the first time, but the manner in which she races suggests that she will enjoy the extra distance on offer. She is having her peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. Alexis Badel retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. FOX TIN showed some signs of returning to form in his last start over 2500m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer. He gets the services of a 1.5kg claiming apprentice this afternoon and if confirming his recent improvement, he should be the one to throw out the biggest challenge to the top choice. AMAZONYA was in need of her last start over this distance at Lyon-Parilly. It must be noted that she finished third in her only start on this course. She gets the services of a 3kg claiming apprentice today which should help her cause. On best form shown, she should be right there in the run down to the wire.

Race 10 – PRIX DE LA VILLE DE STRASBOURG 4 5 9
KENOHOPE is the best bet on today’s card. He produced a very good comeback run over twelve furlongs at Lyon-Parilly. It must be noted that he won his only attempt over this distance. Theo Bachelot retains the ride which is encouraging. He should strip a much fitter horse and in this type of line-up, he should take a power of beating. SANDOSIDE showed good signs of returning to best form in his last start over ten furlongs at Vichy. He is having his peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe. If confirming his recent improvement, he should be the one to pick up the pieces should the top choice fluff his lines. ZALAYOUNI is much better than his last start suggests. His penultimate run over twelve furlongs when finishing fourth catches the eye. If repeating that effort today, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
