Race 1 – 05:50 –
1800m – BM66 Handicap
Selections: 3 – 5 – 2
– 7 – 6
BALMACEDA went
close to winning last time out, when showing the way out in front. That was his
peak run back after a rest, in this class and he should strip a fit horse over
the extra 200m. He won his only start at this course and looks set to make a
big impression on his return. EXPRESS
COURIER
converted some good recent form into a win in this class last time
out, over 2000m. he finds a perfect draw and with Blaike McDougall retaining
the ride he should be a factor in the finish.
Race 2 – 06:25 –
2000m – Class 1 and Maiden Plate
Selections: 1 – 8 – 9
– 11 – 13
GOODRADIGBEE has
a wide draw to overcome but he generally likes to have a few horses in front of
him and he will be looking to settle towards midfield in the early stages. He
arrives on the back of two good thirds over the 1800m in this class and he has
the credentials to just about win this. BLAZING
ZONE
didn’t quite shape in heavy conditions last time out and on his form
prior to that run, he should be one of the leading contenders here. He also has
a wide draw to overcome but he is overdue that maiden win and he must be
included.
Race 3 – 07:00 –
1200m – F&M Maiden Handicap
Selections: 1 – 8 – 4
– 2 – 3
MISS ELSIE MAY
has finished 2nd in her last three starts, which have all been over
this course and distance. To add to that, her only other outing at this course
also resulted in the same outcome and the daughter of Krupt should be able to
go one better this time.            AHADI FARASI is overdue that maiden win
and the 4-year old mare will be looking to build on that solid comeback run
last time, when having her first start this year. She will strip fitter here
and must be included.
Race 4 – 07:35 –
1400m – C,G&E BM58 Handicap
Selections: 2 – 11 –
4 – 1 – 12
MOSS THE BOSS has
his peak run back and his third outing this year, when he lines up at the start
of the fourth race. He ran on nicely from midfield last time and from another
useful draw the son of Mossman will be looking win this. He has a decent record
over this trip and should be the one to beat. LENNOX ROAD tried to go
handy from a wide barrier over the extra in his latest effort and having
endured a tough trip, he weakened noticeably in the closing stages. The drop
back to 1400m will suit and with a bit of luck in running, he should be a major
challenger.
Race 5 – 08:10 –
1200m – Class 3 Handicap
Selections: 6 – 1 – 8
– 7 – 3
ACTON SHALE gave
a good sight when changing tactics and going handy last time, over the 1200m.
He returns to a course where he has finished first and second in two attempts
and with a useful record over this trip, he must be considered. SPANISH POET has been in decent form
and he won’t have to improve much to win a race like this one. From an improved
draw this time, he will be a big factor in the finish.
Race 6 – 08:45 –
1400m – F&M BM58 Handicap
Selections: 10 – 1 –
2 – 5 – 4
CHERRY PIE
followed up that maiden win with a smart effort last time out, when overcoming
a wide draw. The 4-year old daughter of Sebring finds a plum draw this time
around and if repeating that penultimate run when winning her maiden, she will
go very close to winning here. AWAY SHE
GOES
wasn’t disgraced in last time out, when finishing right behind the top
selection in heavy going. That was on the back of notching up her 4th
career win. She is much better in firm conditions and with a solid record over
this 1400m trip, she should be one of the main contenders for first prize.
