Race 5
SHARINDI is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys. She had her consistency rewarded with her maiden win last time out over seven furlongs when going from jump to wire to put six lengths between herself and the opposition. From her handy draw four, she looks good enough to complete her double here. DR NEIGH had shown steady improvement whining his maiden race last time out over six furlongs, despite hanging in the latter stages. He is drawn one outside the top choice and could represent her biggest rival. ZEBLAN is also a 3yr old filly who has cracked pole position and who has shown marked improvement in her last two outings, finishing fourth in her latest run over 1100M. She was staying on that day suggesting that the extra ground will be to her liking and will have cheekpieces fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, she should be included in all bets.
Race 6
GALAPAGOS missed out on his hat-trick last time out when finishing second over seven furlongs, one and a half lengths back from the winner. He will jump from gate five and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today and as such, is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card. SPRING CREEK is a 6yr old mare taking on males, but she has pulled pole position and is seldom far off the action. She was making good late progress when ending up in fourth place in her last start over seven furlongs, 2.6L behind the victor and should turn in another honest performance today. Her stable companion, BARACHIEL could also challenge the top pick. He followed up his penultimate run victory over seven furlongs with a fifth-place finish over the same trip next time out, just under three and a half lengths off the winner. He chased all the way down to the wire that day and should keep the top two selections on their toes.
Race 7
With the late scratching of one of her main rivals, the way may have been cleared for ANGOLA MISS to notch up her fourth career victory. She goes for her hat-trick here after winning her last two starts over a mile, the latest by half a length. From pole position, she should be right up there in the firing line. RATHER SILKY has won two of her last three outings, the latest over 1300M by nearly two lengths. She was friendless in the betting markets that day, but made solid late progress to mow down the frontrunners in the dash down to the wire. She is drawn in gate six and should give a good account of herself here. BUFFY was only outrun close to home before ending up in second place last time out over 1300M. She is drawn one inside the latter and will have her first outing for her new trainer. If fully settled into her new surroundings, she should be respected in this line-up.
Race 8
DELIUS hit the front at the 150M mark before proceeding to put three lengths between himself and the chasing pack last time out over this seven-furlong journey. He returns from a nine-week absence and has his first run for his new trainer, but nonetheless is made the best bet on the program. Although TOKAI MEIGETSU is recorded as finishing seventh in his last outing over a mile, he was just under two lengths behind the winner. He battled all the way down to the wire that day and whist he will have to negotiate a wide draw eleven, he should be right up there should the top pick fluff his lines. WE WANT IT ALL is a 5yr old mare taking on boys. She showed pace to win her maiden race in her last start over 1300M by a length and should use that early gate speed to move across from her wide draw of fifteen without consuming too much energy.

Race 5
ANGEL HELENA had nothing go her way last time out when jumping awkwardly and then not getting the clearest of passages in the straight to ultimately finish third over six furlongs, just over a length and a half behind the winner. He steps up in distance today, but did finish a short-head second over this trip in her penultimate start. From a handy draw two, she could be the one that they all have to beat. ANY WISH showed good improvement to win her last start over seven furlongs by a length. She hit the front going away at the 50M mark that day and could be good enough to complete her double. She is sure to put her pole position to good use. QUEEN SNIP made steady improvement to win her maiden race last time out over a mile by a head. She takes on stronger today but will have 3kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.
Race 6
ATHERTON has won two out of his last three start over 1300M, the latest when a length and a half victor. He went from jump to wire that day and despite be drawn wideish at gate eight, he is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card. BUDHWAR has finished second in his last two outings, the latest when staying on well before being run out of it late over seven furlongs. He has gate six and will get the services of ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle. WAIRERE FALLS drops in distance after finishing third last time out over 1700M, one and a half lengths off the winner. He has the widest draw of them all at gate nine, but is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and should be picking off the frontrunner over the closing stages of the contest.
Race 7
ELECTRIFIED has shown gradual improvement in his last three runs, finishing second in his latest outing over a mile, just a head behind the winner. He battled all the way down to the wire that day and although drawn the worst of them all at gate ten, he should be doing his best work late. DONNACHIARA is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys. She stayed on well when finishing fourth last time out over this c&d and renews her rivalry with BROWN THOMAS who won that race, beating the former by 0.8L. She is however 2kgs better off than the latter today and should be able to turn the tables with her conqueror. The pair are drawn in gates five and seven respectively, so neither will receive much advantage in that regard.
Race 8
MALKOVICH followed up his penultimate run victory by four and a half lengths over 1100M with a second-place finish over the same distance next time out, just a neck behind the winner. He is a speedy sort who is drawn in gate three and may prove to be the best bet on the day. NO IMPEDIMENT showed plenty of pace to win by 2.3L on debut over five furlongs. He is drawn one outside the top choice and would have learnt from that experience. With the natural improvement that can be expected, he could prove to be the biggest threat to the top pick. SHADOW CHASER returns from an 18 week break during which time he was gelded. He has put in two encouraging barrier trials to prove his fitness and on some of his prior form, he should be involved in the finish.
