Race 4
ARGENTEUS returns from an 18-week rest but has finished third in both of his barrier trials to prove his well-being. He was hampered just after the start and then did not get the clearest of passages in his last outing over seven furlongs before the break and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. He drops back in distance, but from pole position, he looks to be the one to side with here. DELILEO has his first run since a 27-week break and has not had the benefit of a barrier trial, but he has only had the two runs to date and has placed in both of these. He also drops in trip, but has a handy draw four and if not too much in need of the outing, he could threaten the top choice. WAAFIYA is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has only had the one start where she finished fifth over 1100M, 5.1L behind the winner. She has a wide draw of eleven to overcome, but with the natural improvement that can be expected, she should not be overlooked in this field.
Race 5
ON THE LEAD showed marked improvement in winning his maiden race by 2.3L last time out over this c&d when returning from a 19-week absence. The rest clearly did him the world of good and from his handy four gate, he may well be able to complete his double today. TOURMASTER was a jump to wire winner by a head last time out over 1100M. He is drawn the widest of them all, but he should be able to use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. KING’S TRUST returns from a lengthy 110-week break from the race track during which time he was gelded, but he has had three barrier trials, finishing second in the latest, to show his fitness. He also has his first run for his new trainer and the fact that his connections have brought him back into racing suggests that they still believe that he has something left to offer them.

Race 6
This looks to be an open race with plenty of the runners having realistic chances of taking top honors. MCGEEHAN put nearly three lengths between himself and the balance of the field when winning his maiden race last time out over this trip. He raced up with the speed that day and as such, his eleven draw may not be such an issue. SNOWFIRE on the other hand has cracked pole position. He has his consistency rewarded with a victory last time out over 1300M. He was not stopping at the wire that day and on that effort, he should have no issue with taking on the extra ground of today’s contest. D’ORO RAIN is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she was staying on well when finishing fourth in her latest outing over the mile. She should give the boys a good run for their money. ADMIT IT followed up his penultimate run win over seven furlongs with a fourth-place finish over 1500M next time out. He only got going late that day and should appreciate the extra ground on offer here.

Race 7
NICCONITA is a 6yr old mare taking on boys, but she has consistent formlines to her name. She was hampered at the start before finishing a short-head behind the winner last time out over 1300M. She jumps from pole position and will have her cause aided by having 1.5kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice. BLESK won his last outing over 1300M by nearly two lengths when returning from a 21-week break. He has drawn gate two and could be the immediate danger to the top pick. EXPRESS PRINCESS is a 4yr old filly who won her last start over the c&d by 0.8L. She has a wide draw of fourteen to negotiate but retains the services of ex-SA jockey Keagan Lathan, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 4
HERECUM DA DRUMS seldom finishes far off the action and hit the front in the straight before being grabbed late to end up a half-length behind the winner last time out over this c&d. He has the widest draw of them all, but on the plus side, he will have 1.5kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. EMOTIVE MOUNTAIN has made steady improvement in his last two runs and stayed on well when ending up in fourth place last time out over the c&d. He has a kinder draw of six and could be the biggest danger to the top choice. JUXTAPOSED showed marked improvement when making good late progress to finish fourth in his latest outing over five furlongs, just 1.2L off the victor. He jumps from a handy gate two and will have a 4kg claiming apprentice in the irons.

Race 5
PETITE ELLE won her last start over five furlongs by just under a length, despite being friendless in the betting markets. If she is able to reproduce that effort here, she looks to be the one to side with here, jumping from her gate three. ALLE VONGOLE is drawn one outside the former and returns from a 15-week rest, but she did finish second in her only barrier trial to prove her well-being. She finished sixth in her last outing over five furlongs before the break and if back to her better form, she could threaten the top pick. HEART OF AUSTRALIA has pulled pole position and race wide in her last outing before finishing seventh over six furlongs. She was only 2.7L behind the victor that day and should be involved in the finish here.

Race 6
With the late scratchings of two of her main rivals, the way may have been cleared for TICINO BELLE to record her second career victory. She is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she tried to go from jump to wire in her last start over this distance before being collared by the winner in the latter stages of that contest. His draw two is sure to be put to good use and she is taken as the best bet on today’s card. WALKINSHAW stayed on gamely before finishing fourth in his last outing over this mile trip. With those late scratchings, he comes into gate nine and will have 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. SENTIMENTAL MISS is a 5yr old mare who is drawn one outside the latter. She made late progress in her last run over seven furlongs suggesting that she should enjoy going over the extra ground today.

Race 7
A 6yr old and a 5yr old mare could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta. AMERICAN SUMMER missed out on securing her hat-trick last time out when stepping up to the mile. She drops back to what appears to be the preferred seven-furlong journey and although draw in gate ten, she could bounce back to winning ways today. SIZZLING DIAMOND put two and a half lengths between herself and the balance of the field to win her maiden race over this c&d last time out, this despite being hampered at the 1100M mark. She is drawn in gate three and will have a 1.5kgs claiming apprentice in the saddle. MODERN FAMILY looked a likely winner close to home before ending up in fourth place last time out over seven furlongs, 1.4L behind the victor. He has a wide draw of eleven to negotiate, but he should nevertheless be included in all bets.

Race 5
ZAALAH is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she finished second on debut over six furlongs, just a head back from the winner after being run out of it very late. She attracted plenty of betting support that day suggesting that she had been showing good work back at home. She has a wideish draw of nine, but she would have come on with the run under her belt and is taken to be the best bet on today’s card. BON ODYSSEY is another 4yr old filly who showed the expected improvement second time out when returning from a 23-week break. She has a kinder draw of three and could complete the exacta here. KREUZER finished sixth, 4.7L behind the winner when making his return to racing after a lengthy 51-week break. If not in need of one more outing, he could be involved in the finish today.
Race 6
MISS MANDY is a 6yr old mare taking on males, but she has shown steady improvement in her last two outings over six furlongs, the latest when third, a length and a half behind the winner. She has to negotiate draw nine, but nevertheless looks to be the one that they all have to beat here. NOBLE SPIRIT showed marked improvement when winning his last start over six furlongs by a head. He will get 4kg removed from his back thanks to his claiming apprentice and from gate six, he could represent the biggest threat to the former. ADVOCATOR is a 5yr old mare who is seldom far off the action and stayed on well when second, two lengths back from the winner in her last outing over five furlongs. She is sure to enjoy going the extra ground and will have her chances aided by having 3kgs removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice.
Race 7
MONG KHON won over 1100M on debut and then followed that up with a sixth-place finish next time out over five furlongs. He was just 1.7L back that day despite shifting around in the straight and if keeping to a straight course today, he should be right up there when they hit the line, starting from his pole position. THE THUNDERESS is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she finished fourth on debut over 1300M and then went on to win easing up next time out over the same distance. She takes on stronger today and has to overcome draw twelve out of the thirteen runners, but she should be respected in this line-up. RATION ALY is another 4yr old filly who won at the second time of asking over seven furlongs but was then rested for 56 week break. She has had the benefit of three barrier trials and did finish second in the latest. She has a kinder six gate and should be included in all bets.
Race 8
ARTIE’S JEWELS has consistent form and made good late progress when just failing to overhaul the winner last time out to finish second over this c&d. He jumps from gate five and should be right up there in the mix. RIO ROGUE had posted solid form before winning his maiden race last time out over this mile journey. He is drawn in gate eight and will have a 3kg claiming in the irons. He may well be able to convert his double today. SAFETY BAY is a 4yr old filly taking on males. She is another who has consistent formlines to her credit and finished third over 1700M in her last start, only one a half-length behind the victor. She likes to race up with the pace in her races, so may not be unduly bothered by her wide twelve draw.
Race 9
BOLSHOI GAL is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she has cracked pole position. She won her maiden race in her last outing over the c&d by a head and is likely to turn in another honest performance today. ABSOLUTE is drawn one outside the top pick and has finished third in his last three runs, the latest when one length back over 1300M. He has his first run for his new trainer, but if fully settled into his new surroundings, he should be considered a major player in this field. ME ‘N’ TAZ only tired very late before finishing third last time out over a mile, some 1.2L back and seem sure to appreciate the drop in distance here. He will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.
