Race 1
Half the field in this opening event on today’s program are making their debuts and as is always the case in these types of fields, a close eye should be kept on the betting market to get some indication as to what the various stables think about their chances of winning the contest. Of the raced runners, PEPPER’S GHOST may prove to be the best. He finished fourth on debut over 1100M and is sure to have come on with the run under his belt. His two draw is an advantage. CASINO NICCONI has a wide draw to overcome, but he was staying on when finishing 1.6L behind the winner on debut over 1100M. On that performance, he should appreciate the extra distance today. FREE TO MOVE has an even wider draw of thirteen, but he was making good late progress in his first start over five furlongs. With the natural improvement that can be expected, he should be respected in this line-up. FATIGUES makes this debut and has not had the benefit of a barrier trial. He will jump from gate three which is a plus.

Race 2
COMMODUS drops in trip after finishing a close up second last time out over 1500M. He is drawn out at gate eleven, but he is likely to be doing his best work late. MOSS JOB is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she was only beaten a neck last time out when making her debut over six furlongs. She would have learnt from the outing and looks a big threat to the former. JOHNNYEL was a little disappointing in his last start over six furlongs, but he has his peak run here and will be hoping to bounce back to his better form. NEODIUM has his first start but put in a solid barrier trial. Any betting support for him should be respected.

Race 3
TO HER DOOR made an encouraging debut when finishing second, just a half-length behind the winner over five furlongs. She would have improved with the run under her belt and although going the extra distance and having draw eleven, she should be right up there at the finish. SPIRITOFTHEVALLEY improved when running on well in the closing stages of her last outing over five furlongs and seems likely to enjoy the extra distance on offer here. MISSALLURE has cracked pole position and drops down from seven furlongs where she has put in two solid runs. She should be involved in the finish today. DAMA RAPIDA on the other hand steps up in trip, but has a handy draw and should be running at the leaders at the business end of affairs.

Race 4
RESOLUTE LAD has only had the two starts to date but showed the expected improvement second time out when finishing well to end up third, just a length behind the winner over 1300M. The step up in distance is sure to be to his liking and he could prove hard to topple today. MARK THE HORSE finished a respectable 3.7L behind when fifth over a mile last time out and could be the immediate danger to the former. CRUNCHIE is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she stayed on when making her debut over seven furlongs and could enjoy going the extra trip today. She has a wide draw of twelve to negotiate, but would have come on with the outing and should be considered. AXECAPITAL was also staying on in his debut over the seven furlongs. He is drawn slightly better at gate nine and could have made enough improvement to challenge the top three selections.

Race 5
YOUNG LIAM was an easy winner last time out over five furlongs to set up his hat-trick attempt today and the manner in which he saw off the opposition in that last outing would suggest that this is very much on the cards. OXLEY JACK returns from a 12-week rest and has not had a barrier trial. He did, however, win his last start over five furlongs before the break and if not too much in need of the run, he should be right up there in the mix. METRO BOY has his first run for his new trainer. If fully settled into his new surroundings, he should be considered for all bets based on his effort three runs back over this trip. CASINO ANGEL is a 6yr old mare taking on boys and is drawn wide. She will, however, be closing in on the leaders over the latter stages of the contest.

Race 6
This looks to be a tricky race and some caution is advised. The weak top pick goes to ELAM who takes a drop in distance from his last outing over six furlongs, but he is sure to appreciate the shorter journey. BEL’S BANNER is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys and has her first run after a 19-week break. She did show some improvement in her last outing before the break and if not too much in need of the run, she should be respected here. THE SISTERS is a 4yr old filly who is seldom too far off the action. She is sure to put in another honest effort today. GOLDEN SCRIPT is a 4yr old filly who returns from a 22-week rest. She drops back in trip, but has pulled pole position which she is sure to put to good use.

Race 7
EOKALIO has shown steady recent improvement culminating in a fluent victory last time out over 1100M. From his handy four draw, he seems capable of completing his double today. LANSBROOK just failed to hold off the chasing pack when narrowly beaten in his last outing over six furlongs. He is drawn wide at thirteen, but is likely to use his early gate speed to move across without using up too much energy. CANELO is drawn one inside the latter and is another who should race up with the speed. THE GREAT BRATSKI is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she was staying on well in her last run over six furlongs and could manage to fill one of the minor places here.

Race 8
YULONG STRIDE has put in two solid last two outings, the latest of which was when finishing third, just over a length behind the winner over a mile. He does have draw nine to contend with, but he likes to race handy and may not find this too much of an issue. RAJPIPLA won over seven furlongs on debut and although drawn out at eleven, he should appreciate the extra distance. He will be right up there in the dash down to the finishing post. VANTASTIC followed up his victory over seven furlongs with a solid 1.5L defeat next time out and can’t be ignored in this field. COWLEY’S CREEK finished second in his last outing over seven furlongs, only a head behind the victor. He should ensure that the top three selections know that they have been in a race.

Race 9
SURE MOVE showed improvement when stepping up in trip to win his maiden race last time out over this c&d. He led from the start and held off challengers that day and although taking on stronger today, he may well be up to the task on hand. KEY TO THE MAK finished third last time out over seven furlongs despite hanging in the closing stages. If keeping to a straight path today, he should be involved in the finish. CLEVER BLAZE won his penultimate outing over seven furlongs and was then a tad disappointing next time out over the same trip. She steps up in trip here and may do better over this greater test of stamina. LA MARITA won last time out over seven furlongs when friendless in the betting markets. He will be hoping to complete his double here.
