Race 6 (Maiden Claiming): No3 – DIAMONATA
Trainer: Ray Ashford Jr – Jockey: Ken Tohill
After a couple of readying runs, DIAMONATA should now be cherry ripe, and her trainer looks to have found a good opening for her in this weakly contested maiden. Easy to back on debut, she attracted plenty of interest next time when fourth to Daisy Fiftyseven and is probably capable of better. For top connections from a perfect post she stands out as the one to beat. Los Suenos has run well in two of three outings since her arrival from Delta Downs. Her latest effort is better than it looks, and she should run into the money. Lakeside Romance could also raise her game but might well be looking at minor honours.

Race 5 (Allowance): No4 – SHANGHAI SALLY
Trainer: Joe Offolter – Jockey: Curtis Kimes
SHANGHAI SALLY has thrived since her arrival here, winning an allowance and finishing second in another, and has the look of a filly that can find extra in this slightly warmer contest. She meets some in form distaffers, but hat-trick seeker Apple County is being asked to step up, while Sweet Mary M bombed out after winning well and needs to bounce back. That leaves Bright Bling as the main threat. She’s earned in five allowances at the track and is now in the hands of Francisco Bravo for whom she’s trained well.

Race 8 (Maiden Claiming): No9 – WEST COAST BROKER
Trainer: Boyd Caster – Jockey: Ken Tohill
Getting closer race by race, WEST COAST BROKER has the wherewithal to make the jump into the winner’s circle in a winnable race. Interestingly the Power Broker gelding put in his best effort over the mile and now reverts to sprinting, but it shouldn’t put potential investors off. If turning up in similar form he can prove too hot for Rebel Rumble and Malibu June. The latter had three races on the New York circuit and could have improved significantly for the move to the Scott Young barn.

Race 9 (Stakes): No2 – DAK DA MAN
Trainer: Kari Craddock – Jockey: Leandro Goncalves
With a progressive profile to bring to the table in a step up in grade, DAK DA MAN holds strong cards in the best race on the card and is posted to enjoy a good trip. He’s attracted support on each of his three races here, getting his act together when beating Big Game Hunter at the end of last month. For value, Seattle Thunder is worthy of examination having notched back to back allowance wins here before placing in two more. Quality Rocket has eye taking credentials and should be ready for this step up on the third start at the track. He’s come back from a protracted break looking better than ever.
