HIGH COURT followed up his penultimate run victory over this distance by over five lengths with a third-place finish over this c&d, 1.3L behind the winner. He jumped awkwardly that day, but recovered well to finish strongly, and from his handy draw four, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card. COTERIE won his penultimate outing over the c&d by a neck and then finished fourth next time out over 1500M, just over a length off the victor. He also jumped awkwardly that day but made good late progress over the latter stages of the race. He has a wideish draw nine, but he looks to be the biggest danger to the top choice. KIRWAN’S LANE won his last outing over 1500M by one and a half lengths when returning from a 15-week rest. He is drawn one outside the latter, but should still be included in all bets. 

SPECIAL SNAP has consistent formlines to her credit, having finished second in her last three outings, the latest when a head back over six furlongs. She jumps from gate two and should turn in another honest performance today. AVADANE has shown steady improvement in her last three runs and tried to go from jump to wire before ending up a head behind in second place last time out over six furlongs. She has drawn gate four and could threaten the former in what looks to be an open contest. ALISON OF TUFFY showed good improvement to win her last start over this trip by half a length, despite not getting the clearest of passages in the straight. She is drawn the widest of them all in gate ten, but she should be doing her best work late. DOROTHY OF OZ finished second over 1300M last time out when dropping sharply in distance to her two prior runs. She was returning from a 24-week absence that day and was only run out of it close to the finish post. She starts from one inside the latter and should not be lightly dismissed in this line-up.

MILITARY ACADEMY has finished second in his last two runs, the latest when a neck behind the winner over 1300M. He overraced in the middles stages of that contest and did well to get as close to the winner as he did. He has cracked pole position and should enjoy sprinting over the shorter distance. BIGGER THAN THORN missed out on his hat-trick when he raced widest of them all into the home straight and then finished in eights place, nearly three lengths behind the victor over this trip. From draw six, the gelding will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today. MORE SUNDAYS was cramped between the 400M and 100M marks last time out over this distance and was then disqualified when his jockey weighed in light. On her previous form, she should be right up there in the mix.

EMANATE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she goes for her hat-trick here after winning her last start over 1100M. She did however win her penultimate outing over this six-furlong trip by 1.3L, so the extra ground of today’s contest should not be an issue. From gate two, she could prove difficult to topple and is made today’s best bet. XANTHUS showed marked improvement to win his penultimate outing over six furlongs and was then immediately rested for 24 weeks. He then stayed on well to finish fourth over six furlongs on his return, just a half-length behind the winner. He will have to negotiate starting from gate eight, but nevertheless, he should be right up there in the mix. TESTIFIER is seldom far off the action and battled all the way down to the wire when finishing second over six furlongs last time out, one and a half lengths back from the victor. He is sure to put his pole position to good use and should be involved in the finish here.
