TOP BET
Race 1: CASUAL DIAMOND(2)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

CASUAL DIAMOND had some promising form prior to a 13 week break and she gets man of the moment Domeyer in the irons in her comeback run today. The Snaith inmate was outrun late by feature placed Rose In Bloom last time out and she would have strengthened during the absence. She has huge claims over this minimum trip.

Race 2: CAPAILL(3)
Jockey: Sihle CELE – Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

There are a few first timers worth monitoring in the betting exchanges here but the raced runners could make their experience count. CAPAILL made a pleasing debut when running on to be 2nd best behind the classy Oh Susanna (feature placed since) over six furlongs on this track in late April. She would have strengthened during the short absence and the daughter of Pathfork should have plenty more to offer. This minimum trip could suit her well and she rates a massive threat.

Race 3: COSSACK GUARD(1)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

The Dean Kannemeyer yard holds a strong hand in this competitive maiden contest where the grey gelding COSSACK GUARD is selected to finally go one better. The ultra-consistent son of Gimmethegreenlight has finished runner-up in his last five starts, most of which have been over this track & trip. He finish- ed a length and a half ahead of HARVEY SPECTOR last time out and should hold that form. His red-hot jockey could make the difference today.

Race 5: TWO BROTHERS(2)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Adam MARCUS

The well-related TWO BROTHERS has some issues but he has shown decent ability and possibly needed his fair comeback run over the mile recently. He will strip much fitter today and interestingly his top pilot retains the ride on the son of Trippi who of course posted his career best effort over this trip. The pair jump from a midfield barrier.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: LADY LI LAY(8)
Jockey: Jason SMITSDORFF – Trainer: Willem A NEL

LADY LI LAY has produced two fair efforts up to a mile and the daughter of Silvano is bred to love this extra ground. She probably needed her comeback run after an eleven week absence and though easily beaten into 4th, the chestnut filly was just under one length adrift of the runner-up and she will be fitter this afternoon. She is her stable’s only entrant on the day.
