Top Bet
Race 1: COCK-A-HOOP(3)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

COCK-A-HOOP has produced two decent efforts to date and he made the expected improvement when finishing runner-up behind subsequent Grade 1 winner Always In Charge over this c & d, second time out. He showed good pace on that occasion and the Western Winter colt should continue to progress. He could prove very tough to beat in this opening event.

Race 2: KENNY TRIX(6)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Vaughan MARSHAL

KENNY TRIX drops to maiden company for the first time and he does appear above-average. The pacey bay colt weakened after racing green on his fair debut against winners and he made decent improvement to finish 3rd in a feature over this c & d, second time out. His yard has already excelled with their juveniles this term and this son of Philanthropist should have plenty more to offer.

Race 3: SILVER CAPTAIN(9)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

SILVER CAPTAIN drifted alarmingly in the betting market but still produced a pleasing debut over this c & d in early April. The grey filly ran on well for 3rd in a competitive event despite an awkward start and she would have strengthened during the break. The daughter of Captain Al should make natural improvement.

Race 4: TWINKLE TOES(12)

Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

TWINKLE TOES has obviously suffered a setback after her promising c & d debut earlier this season and she returns from a le43-week3 week break. Her conditioner’s patience could be rewarded and the well-related daughter of Captain Al would have strengthened during the absence. She must be closely followed in the betting exchanges and deserves respect with Fourie in the saddle.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 7: SOLAR NIGHT(13)
Jockey: Craig BANTAM – Trainer: Glen PULLER

SOLAR NIGHT has performed below-par with blinkers in his last three outings and hardly surprisingly, his conditioner has removed the headgear today. The chestnut son of Warm White Night showed some decent earlier ability, including a maiden win over a mile on this track and he continues to steadily drop in the merit ratings. He now has his peak showing and could upset from a good draw, with a 4kgs apprentice claim.
