Race 9: MATARI(7)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: ARCTIC TEON(1)

Jockey: Aldo Domeyer – Trainer: Willem A NEL

ARCTIC TEON is plagued with issues but he has shown useful form, particularly over this distance. He will be cherry-ripe and holds strong claims in this contest.

TOP BET

Race 4: OUR ICON(4)
Jockey: Grant BEHR – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

OUR ICON was slightly disappointing in stronger company last time but he has lots of class about him and should be given another chance. He ran on again at the finish in that latest effort and will be more effective over today’s distance. The Kannemeyer inmate produced a super-impressive victory over this trip in his penultimate run despite a hefty mass. He drops in class on his peak run today and should go really close. The Dynasty colt has plenty more to offer.

Race 6: BIG CAT(4)

Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

In stark contrast to the previous contest, this handicap event should be run at a strong pace and a true result is expected. The veteran campaigners BIG CAT and ZE KAISER will love the likely solid gallop and the pair of six-year olds could fight out an exciting finish. They were only separated by just over one length, in favour of the latter in their respective comeback runs over seven furlongs at pinnacle level, four weeks ago.

Race 9: DIXIE EXPRESS(3)

Jockey: Brandon MAY- Trainer: Justin SNAITH

There are some really fast types on display in this final leg of the Pick 6 and the suicidal early pace could pave the way for those runners who finish well. The fast improving three-year old filly, DIXIE EXPRESS is one of those and she produced a strong finish to win each of her last two runs. The daughter of Jay Peg has now won 3 of her last 4 starts and the form of her last run was boosted when the 3rd placed finisher beat stronger, next time out. The Justin Snaith inmate could prefer the cracking pace of this minimum trip and she holds strong claims, despite the resultant four pound penalty. She will benefit from a 4kgs apprentice allowance.
