RAIN IN NEWMARKET has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She was slow into stride in the Listed Stormsvlei Stakes last time, but stayed on nicely to finish second. She has won twice and finished second three times from as many starts on this course. She is having her peak run this afternoon and with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle, she should win.

PHIL’S DANCER is one of the better bets on today’s card. She showed good pace in her last start over this C&D and fought hard to notch up her fourth career victory. She has won three times, finished second once and third three times from seven starts over this C&D. The daughter of Philanthropist may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

MARINA is the best bet on the programme. She was ultra-impressive when winning the Listed Stormsvlei Stakes last time. The daughter of Silvano should have no issues with the extra 600m on offer today. She has plenty of class and should take a power of beating.

AMANZIMTOTI caught the eye when winning her maiden over 1200m. She was slow into stride, but won going away. The daughter of Trippi will love the extra 300m on offer today. She does take on stronger, but she looks to be above average and can follow up.
