Race 2: WATERBABY(1)
Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK – Trainer: Paul REEVES
The four-year old speedster WATERBABY was outrun late by a rank outsider over this c & d early last month and should be very competitive once again. She has most to fear from the younger generation though.

Race 3: ONE DIRECTION(7)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Justin SNAITH
ONE DIRECTION has clearly found his best form again and he ran on well for 2nd behind his stablemate Strathdon over ten furlongs three weeks ago. He finished just over two lengths clear of the veteran campaigner RED PERIL (1kg better off) and should still confirm the form. The four-year old is overdue his second career win and this shorter trip won’t be an issue.

Race 4: HEART OF A LEGEND(2)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE – Trainer: Glen KOTZEN
The Glen Kotzen yard holds a decent hand in this competitive maiden contest with riding engagements firmly indicating that HEART OF A LEGEND is the preferred pick. This consistent daughter of Antonius Pius was outrun late into 2nd by the smart first timer Midnight Moonlight (runner-up next time out) over the track & trip in yielding conditions early last month. The 3rd placed entrant Wine Festival boosted that formline when she crushed her rivals subsequently. The bay filly has gate speed to overcome her wide berth and she has obvious claims.

Race 6: THE JOY OF IT(10)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: Eric SANDS
THE JOY OF IT had a disappointing sprint in yielding conditions last time but the short break would have helped her cause. She showed smart ability prior to that and stayed on well for 4th in a strong field over this c & d on her handicap debut in her penultimate showing. The well-bred bay filly is drawn best of all and she can bounce back to form from gate 1. The Snaith inmate will love the likely solid gallop.

Race 7: JAY ROCK(2)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON
JAY ROCK has proven to be at his best when sprinting but he wasn’t completely disgraced in a stronger field over further mid last month. He had very encouraging sprint form over this distance prior to that though, including finishing a most creditable 2nd on his handicap debut in a strong field over this track & trip. He has quite surprisingly been docked two pounds and the four-year old can take full advantage of that.
