TOP BET
Race 1: CASUAL DIAMOND(1)
Jockey: Bernard FAYD’HERBE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH

CASUAL DIAMOND has continued to improve with racing and she ran on well to shed her maiden tag over this c & d three weeks ago. She was returning from a 13-week absence so will strip fitter and clearly has more to offer. The daughter of Var can raise her game in this stronger contest.

Race 3: LADY LI LAY(8)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Willem A NEL

LADY LI LAY may have some issues but she has shown fair form in both her starts and will be fitter after perhaps just needing her comeback run over this c & d. She has just under one length to find on the runner-up BRIDAL PARTY but has more scope and can turn things around from her good draw. The chestnut filly has a top jockey in the irons.

Race 4: REDEEMER(2)
Jockey: Corne OFFER – Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

REDEEMER will be looking to do just that after he failed to quicken in a strong field over nine furlongs on this course eleven weeks ago. He would have benefitted from the break but his formline has worked out well in the interim and the full brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Captain America can bounce back to form today. He represents a red-hot combination and will prefer the mile.

Race 8: OFF BROADWAY(1)

Jockey: Bernard FAYD’HERBE – Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

OFF BROADWAY has finished runner-up in his last three starts and he has strong claims reverting to sprints today. The son of Var has overcome his theatrics at the start.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: STATE BALLET(4)

Jockey: Craig BANTAM – Trainer: CJ BURGER VAN VUUREN

STATE BALLET has formed a great relationship with this 2.5kgs claiming apprentice and the pair finish- ed strongly to collar the speedy SEATTLE OAK over this c & d at a lower-level four weeks ago. They meet on similar weight terms but the latter may be pushed harder in the early stages and that will make her task a stiff one. The top rated four-year-old is probably still ahead of the handicapper’s assessment despite the resultant three-pound penalty and she can reel off the hat-trick.
