AYR

Race 2 No2 LOCKE (Nap)
Trainer: Brian Meehan – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

LOCKE looked very good value for his success in a Windsor novice last week and although high in the weights should make his mark on this nursery debut. Penalised 6lb for the win, the Muhaarar colt is one to follow in this division through the autumn, and should put in a big earning run.

Race 3 No4 PROJECT DANTE
Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Graham Lee

Although beating only one home in the July Stakes at Newmarket, PROJECT DANTE was beaten only seven lengths by the winner, and is probably better judged on his narrow defeat by Perfect Power in the Norfolk Stakes at Ascot. That form was given a considerable boost by the latter’s Group 1 triumph in France, and a repetition would make him hard to beat.

Race 6 No12 ZORAVAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Keith Dalgleish- Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

ZORAVAN is seeking to end a more than two year drought, but a couple of solid efforts here in the summer indicate he’s ready to deliver, and especially if the forecast rain on the west coast arrives. He likes to find cover before being delivered late, and can find that in this big field.

NEWBURY

Race 5 No1 AL SUHAIL (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick

This is a competitive race in terms of numbers, but if AL SUHAIL can continue on an upward curve the gelding should outclass his foes. The hooded selection ran well in Group 2s at Ascot and Newbury before taking advantage of a class drop to score at Haydock. He’s always been held in high regard by his trainer.

Race 6 No11 SURREY GOLD (Each Way)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: David Egan

Back at his optimum distance, SURREY GOLD can endorse his liking for this course and repeat his facile success gained in May. He was far from disgraced in the Melrose at York where his effort petered out in the final furlong. He’s on a tempting mark and can bounce back.

Race 7 No3 NEENEE’S CHOICE
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Prolific scorer NEENEE’S CHOICE has the momentum to take this out under the champion jockey. The Paco Boy gelding regularly attracts market support, and will be a popular order to make it four wins on the bounce for his bang in form stable.

NEWTON ABBOT

Race 4 No10 SERGEANT (Nap)
Trainer: Milton Harris – Jockey: Mitchell Bastyan

SERGEANT left all previous form behind when coming back from a long lay off to score over course and distance at the end of last month. He reacted positively to first time cheek pieces which are retained, and looks a sound advice to follow-up now that he’s discovered his true ability.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 4 No6 KING CAPELLA (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

Kingman colt KING CAPELLA won many friends with his introductory near miss at Haydock and holds strong claims to break his duck in this novice stakes. Only greenness cost his the spoils and he will be more streetwise for this clash with Beholding.
