HEREFORD

Race 6 No2 YAUTHYM (Each Way)
Trainer: Stuart Edmunds – Jockey: Liam Harrison

YAUTHYM can take out the nightcap on a card that has been decimated runner-wise by quick ground, save for this race. Fourteen are scheduled to face the tape for the two miles handicap hurdle and the selection is trying to gain compensation for a lacklustre effort at Ludlow last time, for which she was made favourite. She’s a lot better than she showed, and if back to herself has a strong earning chance.

HUNTINGDON

Race 3 No4 SAGE ADVICE (Nap)
Trainer: Dr Richard Newland – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

As the least experienced runner in this handicap hurdle, SAGE ADVICE has more room for progression than his foes. A former useful performer on the level in Ireland, he needed his race at Catterick last month which has served the purpose of fine-tuning him for a return to jumping.

Race 5 No5 BILLY RAY
Trainer: Sam England – Jockey: Tom Midgley

BILLY RAY is a talented individual when wind issues don’t stand in his way. He put up an improved effort to trouble the judge on his latest outing at Uttoxeter in the spring, but now has the cheekpieces he sported for the first time that day removed.

Race 6 No9 HARRY THE NORSEMAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Paul Webber – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

Since undergoing a breathing op, HARRY THE NORSEMAN pulled of a 20-1 upset at Uttoxeter, but out of the money in two subsequent outings. However, he wasn’t beaten far at Stratford last time, and that could have served the purpose of making him fitter.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No4 WELSH SAINT
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Charlie Deutsch

A change of stables could prove just what the doctor ordered for WELSH SAINT, who after unseating on his debut over fences last season wasn’t quite able to rediscover his earlier smart form as a hurdler. Thomas enjoyed a bountiful time of things with his relatively small string last winter and has done well with the horses he trains for Welsh Saint’s owner Dai Walters.

Race 4 No2 FLAGRANT DELITIEP (Nap)
Trainer: Robert Walford – Jockey: Brendan Powell

FLAGRANT DELITIEP has been a useful money-spinner for his connections, transferring some solid form over hurdles into a chasing career last season when he won two and was second in two from only five outings. He is allowed to compete in this novices’ hurdle as he’s never won in that sphere and can take the spoils on the way to better things ahead back over fences.

Race 6 No1 ALKOPOP
Trainer: Toby Lawes – Jockey: Tom Cannon

ALKOPOP demonstrated that he operates effectively when fresh by scoring on his seasonal reappearance at Chepstow in January. He followed up at Fontwell, was denied by just a head in his hat-trick bid at Hereford and should be afforded abundant respect as his trainer pitches him straight into a handicap on this chase debut.

NEWCASTLE

Race 2 No4 HOOKED ON YOU
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: PJ McDonald

Star-spangled banner filly HOOKED ON YOU had the wherewithal to take out this fillies’ maiden on her return to the Tapeta surface. Though well held on that debut effort here in the autumn, she stepped up markedly to chase home the useful Sky Blue Pink at Haydock, which shows she is progressing along the right lines.

Race 3 No1 AZURE BLUE (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

AZURE BLUE looks to hold the cards in this second division of the fillies’ maiden. The grey hit the woodwork on her last two outings at Carlisle and Ayr, and only needs to transfer that level of form to an artificial surface to take the spoils.

Race 4 No5 INSTINCTION
Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Gianluca Sanna

Brazen Beau filly INSTINCTION has been afforded a four-month break since her Beverley flop and is the one to beat in this novice judged on her previous good efforts when winning on debut at Redcar, finishing just out of a black type place in Listed company at York and narrowly failing to open her account at Catterick.

Place Accumulater Perm (Races 2-8)

4 x 1 x 5 x 5, 3 x 9, 11, 13, 4 x 5, 8, 3 x 13, 7, 8
